Finished a run and a guy came up to me with an identical pair and said, "I think these are yours."
Sure enough, he was right.
I end up driving a lot of rental cars. Now days to remember what I’m driving at the current moment I keep a photo on my phone, also doubles to remind me where I park, save the trouble of walking rows pushing the horn button.
I usually delete the photo when I drop off the car, once I didn’t and walked around a parking lot looking for a blue coupe, when I should have been looking for grey sedan. Embarrassing.
Had a ‘61 Chevy Bel Air that, if you didn’t turn it to the lock position, you could remove the key and throw it away...handy projections around the key slot made for easy use..
What a hoser!
LOL!
Yes.
Ambiguous, no?
Our Prius is keyless and I’m not wild about it. I do love the rest of the car.
With over a half century of car key experience, and now the rules change.
Making a quick stop for a few grocery items, I drop my wife off in the ‘pick up’ zone.
Fortunately, the store was busy and I had not moved before my wife realized that she had the fob. I did wonder what she was tapping on the window about???
In not far enough away Chiraq, they shoot you for blocking the driveway. Unsure if we were far out in the burbs to be somewhat safe?
When she tossed in the fob, I understood.
Classic!
When I was in college, the campus paper had a article about a stolen car. However, it turned out that a student asked a friend to move her car to avoid a parking ticket. The car was “brown Ford”. The student’s car was a brown Pinto. Next to it was a brown LTD. By chance, they has the same key pattern and the friend took the wrong one.
