I would rather have a .50 caliber ball air gun with decent velocity.
Set it up in a field at night with thermal optics and silently kill feral hogs.

Toy linear accelerator rifles get you tin cans.
Functional large caliber air guns get you bacon.

Bacon > tin cans.

I have a friend who has one in .45. It throws the projectile at right around 950fps.

Only problem with that is, those 50 cal air guns are not at all silent, I’ve seen videos of guys shooting them, and they are pretty damn loud.

Any big bore airgun is going to be far from silent without a good LDC (lead dust collector).

Even my .22 PCP is as loud as a .22 short without the LDC. A "thump" with it.
