I'm a guy, so I did not notice the purse. I had to go back and look again to see what you were talking about. BTW, I agree; the purse is too big. The heels are also too high for my taste, but - no matter what she wears or carries - she's as beautiful as the media pretended Michelle Obama was.
That bug out bag is huge, it better come fully equipped for $3k.
She ain’t using your money to buy it. Her husband doesn’t even take a salary. So what’s your real problem with it?

The Trumps can afford to buy ANYTHING they want whenever they want for the rest of their lives, so why shouldn’t they indulge themselves? It’s not like they’re stealing the White House furniture (like the Clintons). Think of it as adding to the economy! :-)
I guess when you have the money you can buy the purse you want to carry it in.
Could have been worse. Could have been a Birkin bag which could have cost 4x that amount and in some cases more.
This is a simple look for the average American woman to copy. White jeans, white shirt, brightly colored shoes and a white purse with a contrasting trim that matches the shoes. She is a style maker. I think she’s amazing.
No taxpayers were hurt in the purchase of this purse. She can spend her money any way she pleases. She was a successful businesswoman (perhaps millionaire) pre-Trump. And I doubt if he forbids her to spend his/their money.
Personally, I shop at thrift shops — not because I have to but because I want to. (My husband HATES that I do that.) $3K for a purse is something I can’t wrap my head around, but ... each to his own.
