Now just a sign of poor judgement and impulse control.

Some people think this is perfectly fine and normal, it is creative, it is their body to do with as they please, and we are told we should not be judgemental:

That may indeed be true, and it is a matter of degree. After all, who really minds if a young girl gets a little tattoo on her ankle, or a guy gets something on his deltoid?

But people who cover large, exposed parts of their bodies make a choice, and it is my right to judge them for the choices they make.

And I judge people negatively who have large parts of their bodies covered with tattoos. My opinion may certainly change when I interact with them, but in the absence of that, I reserve the right to reach certain negative conclusions about them based on their physical appearance.

I don't judge people who are unattractive. I don't judge people based on their race or sex. I don't judge people based on what God has given them.

But I do judge people based on what they intentionally do to what God has given them.

Just because a person has tats doesn’t make them a bad or nasty person...I know some really nice people who have them... Being that as it may, it doesn’t mean that I have to like the tats...

For most people in this country, tattoos are still trashy and low class. Period.

I have never had a problem with limited tattoos on men, but I did grow up in a Navy family so I was used to seeing men with tattoos on their forearms, deltoids, calves, and occasionally, a back or chest which I developed an opinion on early in life as a kid: If the tattoo stood out and set the person apart, I never thought it was a good thing.

If I saw a sailor on the beach or somewhere who removed his shirt and had a large tattoo covering a lot of skin area, I had an immediate negative response. It wasn’t a snobbish response, it was simply “Why would he need do that?”

And any woman I saw who had a visible tattoo was always a negative.

As a man, I think an attractive woman is one of the most amazing and beautiful things on the face of the earth, very few things compare. I am annoyed when I see something as beautiful as that with visible tattoos on arms, legs, chest or back. I find myself asking the same question I asked when I saw those on men as a kid: “Why would she need to do that?”

It seems like a form of...sacrilege or defacement, like drawing a mustache with a magic marker on a fine painting of a man.

But...I also believe in freedom of people to do as they wish. And my freedom to judge them for it.

They are ALL THEIR CHOICE, so are totally fair game for judgement.

Just as we can judge how they dress.

The good thing about dress is one can change that completely, easily.

I agree completely, and in my post I said as much and reserve the right to change my opinion in personal interactions, but in initial impressions, it is rarely a positive thing.

Agreed completely. A guy may have a mohawk and wear his pants low with his underwear showing when he comes in for an interview with me and I won’t hire him.

But I am fully willing to reconsider if he changes his hairstyle and clothing choices and tries again, because I recognize he may understand context and is willing to change as needed.

I personally don’t think she is unattractive, it is simply an unflattering image of her.

I respect her decision not to cover up as requested for the position offered, but I insist on the same respect for refusing to give her the position based on her choice.

My choice is just as valid, even more so, and I expect it to be a two way street, though there are some people who appear not to understand and respect that view.

I like women. You might say, I am a connoisseur. I have YET to see a women who improves her appearance with a tattoo. I have seen countless examples to the contrary.

Just more proof you can get little girls to do anything.

Just like dad said, “If your friends jumped off a bridge...”

I saw this last night nd was going to post it today. Her mother is an enabler of what is wrong with folks now. She says her daughter is wholesome but she looks like a stripper or a porn star now.
