Customer reviews were supposed to be one of the internets greatest breakthroughs. They let you know if a product was any good before you spent money on it. Sites like Amazon, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Uber, Lyft, and Airbnb built their successes on the trust created by those review systems.
But these days, that trust is getting shaky.
*snip*
I would estimate right now, across all categories, around 30% are fake reviews, Khalifah says. Of the Chinese no-name companies, Id say 95% of them are fake reviews.

ROFL!! You’re right!
> I thought the fake but accurate reviews on that stupid book written by Hillary and her clown running mate were hilarious and most entertaining. <
There were a ton of funny one-star reviews for Hillary’s “What Happened” book. But Herself must have complained. Because all of those reviews disappeared.
I always read the 3 stars first. The fakes are either 1 or 5 star.
“Even worse are the short-sellers flooding the blogs.”
I know ... almost as bad as the longs flooding the blogs ...
Funniest thing I’ve ever read from Amazon.
"The dookie passed faster than Hillary Clinton could delete her emails.
I found this one when I was trying to decide on a purchase:
I especially love the ending. Too bad the product is almost $400, or I might take the advice.
Angie’s List is the worst. The best way to tell is how many review there are per 100,000 population. Over one or two for a single contractor and they are fake.
Yaelle, you have totally made my evening! Thank you for all those wonderful links to the Amazon customer reviews I havent laughed out loud so much in weeks, maybe more. They say laughter is the best medicine, well, I am cured!
They re so funny, and some are so talented! What creativity! I agree, laughter is the best medicine.

Someone has to counter the fake news ...
LOL - you’re right - really funny stuff...

Mine arrived DOA. I placed it on the banana, and it just sat there. Maybe there are batteries required? I tried to sell it on Craigslist, but no takers.Read more

Those are hysterical.
True or not, they are worth the read.
Good idea ... I’ll start doing that too.
The fake reviews are bad, but the fake products are worse. Amazon allows third-parties to sell knockoffs and fraudulent products and refuses any liability. I tried to post a review after being sold a fake, and they pulled my review. This will come back to bite them.
>>even worse are fake movie reviews ... there are so many trolls being paid to fake movie reviews that sites like rottentomatoes and imdb are nearly worthless for user reviews of contemporary movies
you mean that the dark knight batman movie isn’t really the third best movie EVER made???
I never knew about these other products’ reviews. Thanks for posting them...The Q&A about the pen and menopause is a riot.
For later...
