Customer reviews were supposed to be one of the internet’s greatest breakthroughs. They let you know if a product was any good before you spent money on it. Sites like Amazon, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Uber, Lyft, and Airbnb built their successes on the trust created by those review systems.
But these days, that trust is getting shaky.

There were a ton of funny one-star reviews for Hillary’s “What Happened” book. But Herself must have complained. Because all of those reviews disappeared.
I always read the 3 stars first. The fakes are either 1 or 5 star.

Angie’s List is the worst. The best way to tell is how many review there are per 100,000 population. Over one or two for a single contractor and they are fake.

Good idea ... I’ll start doing that too.
The fake reviews are bad, but the fake products are worse. Amazon allows third-parties to sell knockoffs and fraudulent products and refuses any liability. I tried to post a review after being sold a fake, and they pulled my review. This will come back to bite them.
