The Eagles, like many superstars of their day, are now on the oldies but goodies playlists—but it is proof that their music has lasting power.

I can identify over 100 music artists in the 60's and 70's that had superb albums. I can't name one from the 90's.

"The Bends" and "OK Computer" are the only two I can think of.

Alan Parsons “Try Anything Once”. The greatest 90s album nobody heard.

“I can identify over 100 music artists in the 60’s and 70’s that had superb albums. I can’t name one from the 90’s. “

As a musical child of the 70’s the 80’s was a sonic wasteland that thankfully was erased by bands of the 90’s.

There were a lot of good tunes made in the 90’s but the concept of an album never seemed to rebound from what it had been a couple of decades earlier.

There are no good albums today. The stuff on the radio is horrible. But the indie bands to be found on the internet are worth searching for.

Bleach - Nirvana
Pearl Jam had at least two
NIN had a pretty good one

There were a few good bands in the 90s. Grunge was a big deal and their music has held up pretty well.

Disintegration by The Cure. 1989.
A great album for Mood Rock. Not from the actual 1990’s, but very close.

I can only think of one from the 90’s:

GREENDAY

As a side note. My 20 year old son(I am 55) listens to the music I grew up on. He loves the Talking Heads, Dire Straits, Meatloaf, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley, etc. He does not like Rap or Hip/Hop or Country or pop artists. Most of the CD’s he has in his car are my old ones.

Smash Mouth was pretty good. You’d recognize a couple of their songs.
