Stress Management Activity (It Really Works!)
email | 08/21/2018 | email

Posted on 08/21/2018 4:32:32 PM PDT by waterhill

Stress management technique, recommended in all the latest psychological journals.

The funny thing is that it really does work and will make you smile:

1. Picture yourself lying on your belly on a warm rock that hangs out over a crystal clear stream.

2. Picture yourself with both your hands dangling in the cool running water.

3. Birds are sweetly singing in the cool mountain air.

4. No one knows your secret place.

5. You are in total seclusion from that hectic place called the World.

6. The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.

7. The water is so clear you can make out the face of the Democrat (insert name) you are holding underwater.

See, it worked. You feel better already.

Take your time and tighten your toes as much as possible. Release. Tighten your shins as much as possible. Release. Do the same thing with thighs, waist, fingers, lower arm, upper arm, chest & then neck. Works every time.

Working out/physical activity does it for me.

I was just posting this from an email and thought it funny as most of the problems here in the USA are caused by democrats.

Soooo, basically you are saying to get the heck out of the city?

That is why I moved to the woods long ago.

I don’t have to imagine.

I see that you did not read the final, pertinent step #7:

7. The water is so clear you can make out the face of the Democrat (insert name) you are holding underwater.

I like rowing. Feel better afterwards, does not hurt my knee and helps my neck, and I can zone out or go over my class.

I’ve thought about getting a rowing machine. But I worry that it might hurt my back. I’m sure that if you “do it correctly” you can avoid injury. But how hard is it to maintain “correct form” during an extended aerobic workout? Do you feel that there is a risk of a sore back or is it as worry-free as a stationary bike (I’ve never heard of an injury from a stationary bike). Thanks.

I was completely “unstressed” by the time I got thru reading your solution! I had a smile on my face. What a great tip.

You are correct. I apologize. And it is much better in that context.

But It helps to have land as well, and maybe a backhoe to eliminate the evidence too.

I see that you did not read the final, pertinent step . . .

It looks like most readers missed that. FR Tradition #1: If there is a link, post without reading the referenced article. FR Tradition #2: If there is not a link, Post without reading the full original post. We are big fans of tradition here.

Do you know how long it would take to read all the way to #7? Who has that sort of time?

You forgot the step that included drinking beer.

It works both ways I suppose. One could post this on DU with the opposite Republican being held down and everyone would applaud over there too. One difference is here it is a chuckle but over there plenty would take it seriously.

If you are too shy, pick up a small stone and rub it with your fingers. Then you will feel a little boulder.

You forgot the step that included drinking beer.

I didn't get that far because somebody left out the step about mosquito repellent...

;-)
