More than 18,000 people marched Saturday in Paris as part of an international mobilization to show popular support for urgent measures to combat climate change in advance of a San Francisco summit.
Crowds overflowed a plaza in front of City Hall before marching east to the Place de la Republique, carrying an urgent message that its up to the public to put global warming at the top of the political agenda.
Planet in Danger, read some banners.
Activists around the world encouraged Rise for Climate protests before the summit taking place Sept.12-Sept. 14. Californias governor proposed the event after President Donald Trump vowed to pull the U.S. out of a landmark 2015 climate accord.
The international agreement was negotiated in France, and the French capitals march was more successful than ones held Saturday in other French cities or elsewhere in Europe.
Environmental groups said the organized hundreds of events around the globe Saturday to highlight the issue.

The United States must join the socialist world or we all will perish in a burning ball of fire!
Amazing. Their home is being overrun by barbarians and they think global warming is important.
The friction caused by marching raises the planet’s temperature.
these lefty pukes should kill themselves and fertilize the ground with their corpses
Climate Change == Communism
What exactly would they have us do.
These people are so boring.
They want our money. That’s why. In the future....I expect to be shot in the head for saying that and admit my Lord and Savior is Jesus Christ. Think I’m kidding?
Every liberal is a violent totalitarian thug.
from the AP report:
“Police estimated that 18,500 took part in the Paris march, while organizers put the number at some 50,000
Several hundred people gathered in Frances southern port city of Marseille ”
French news agency AFP’s report!
9 Sept: AFP: Global climate protests peak in US as UN talks falter
In France, up to 115,000 people turned out in what may be the country’s largest environmental demonstration.
Clemence Dubois, the France campaigner for 350.org, an umbrella organization for climate activists worldwide called the march “proof that citizens are ready to demand commitments from our elected officials.”
it’s clear from AP that there was nothing major happening outside Paris, and the activist quoted in the AFP report only speaks about one march, so the 115,000 reported by AFP is pure gloBULL warming BS.
also from AP report:
“Thousands of people took to the streets of San Francisco”
which surely means not many at all, yet insider Climate Home website was earlier predicting:
8 Sept: Climate Home: As he prepares to host climate bash, will Californias Brown bring gifts?
by Helga Timaroczky and Karl Mathiesen
On Saturday activists at 350.org are mounting the largest ever climate march the US west coast has ever seen in San Francisco, according to activists at 350.org.
Um...Parisians? You may want to look to the left or to the right of where you live.
There are Enemy Invaders living RIGHT NEXT DOOR that want you DEAD!
And not because of your Carbon Footprint...
also worth noting that, despite plenty of FakeNewsMSM blaming US for problems finding the $100 billion per year to give out to so-called developing countries (which includes China!), it’s worth noting what the insiders at Climate Home are stating:
8 Sept: Climate Home: Bangkok Bulletin: Money talks
Its crunch time at the UN climate talks.
By Megan Darby in Bangkok, Karl Mathiesen
Is this really a Trump wrecking-on-his-way-out-the-door dynamic? The US negotiators many of whom remain in place from the Obama state department are walking a difficult line.
***In private, sources close to the delegation say the US diplomats are trying to negotiate rules that would make it politically simple for a future US president to re-enter the deal
Get rid of our cars, our air conditioners and heating systems, our refrigerators...basically start washing our clothes in the rivers and live in mud huts while the elites won't be affected.
How did it go in Antartica?
Did the MSM report that the Antartica marchers were all in matching tuxedos?
Climate change causes terrorism according to Sanders.
Didn’t he already take us out of the Paris BS?
2,241,346 people live in Paris and 18,000 chose to ‘march’. That means over two million people either didn’t give a damn about this issue or didn’t care enough to ‘march’... (2,223,346 didn’t show up)
