If socialism is so great, why not stay in those countries?
If Democrat policies are so wonderful, why not stay?

It makes sense. They want stuff. Non-socialist regions create stuff. So they come where we are and then vote to take the stuff productive people have created. They’re too stupid to see the connection - no surprise considering they are socialists.

Immigrants who flee socialist countries vote for Democrats in overwhelming numbers.
Is this your opinion or factually based? The Cubans who left Cuba after Castro, were/are notorious for being conservative and voting Repulican.

Immigrants who flee hellholes, which they made for themselves, and then vote for the same policies believe in "magic dirt theory." They think that their ideas
will work if they are transplanted onto someone else's soil.
SJWs who flee hellholes, which they made for themselves, and then vote for the same policies believe that their ideas will work if they are tried one more time.

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, to answer your question, have a 5 minute conversation with your average demo_rat. It will then be perfectly clear to you why they do what they do.

I know several leftists and one of the first things they will say is “everybody deserves healthcare”. That puts many people in the leftist column. That and the intense need to think of themselves as “compassionate”, etc., seems to cloud their thinking on most every other political and social issue, and on the consequences of the policies leftists most always support.

Speaking only of blue state emigres, and I know a few, these are not outcome-based decision makers, they focus on principles only and they’re the principles that make them feel good about themselves. A negative outcome is met with a shrug and “at least we tried.” And for that reason they all consider themselves more moral than their critics.

I don't have a clue; but it has to be the same kind of reason Yankees come south and still read the NYT and vote Democrat.

Socialist countries are socialist because of the people in them. Some of those people will be capable of seeing when socialism starts to fail and will flee to a non socialist place.
But at heart, they’re still socialist. They’ll still support and agitate for socialism. Much of this is because such persons are incapable of relating cause to effect over time. What feels good now must be done now, tomorrow is tomorrow and not part of the discussion.
