I am not so surprised at the scheming Democrats are doing to stop President Trump and his Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh. I am surprised that Republicans have scurried to their safe spaces and have been missing and silent. No one defending Kavanaugh, speaking up for him, for the institution, and for President Trump. Granted many are GOPe but still, Kavanaugh is an incredible pick for the Supreme Court and here they, our Senators, sit on their hands. WHAT ARE YOUR SENATORS DOING?
Mine are doubtless high-fiving each other because they are both useless asshole democrats.
What side are the “Red State” Democrat Senators on? Have they taken a stand? Last I heard, 3-4 were going to vote for Kavanaugh. What do they have to say now?
Mine are Feinstein and that idiot Harris. Says it all...
This is blatant malfeasance. No sane person actually believes this. They are just maliciously going along with the feigned contempt.
Jones from Alabama had said prior to the review that he would ‘lean’ toward Kavanaugh. I don’t think he’ll vote that way at present...but he’s likely out in the 2020 election as he runs.
Grassley has allowed his committee to be hijacked. Half of the Senate is a putsch of fascist rabble. The other half are witless cowards protecting their privilege. There are no genuine patriots in the entire Senate willing to put their political lives on the line for the Constitution. Not even one!
bttt
Where are the big talkers like Trey Gowdy?
At this point, I’ll even take Bob Dole!
Are the rest of the GOP really so delighted, so sanguine that Pres. Trump is having difficulty getting his nomination through?
I am going to remember all the Republicans who enabled this farce, and pray they are primaried the next time they run. Out with the whole lot of ‘em.
It’s YOUR fault then. /s
Bob Dole? You date yourself. I don’t see anyone doing much. Hatch was defending him the other day but nothing, nothing from Lee, Cruz, etc. And outside the committee, nothing. Linda was defending him. But the rest? Crickets. Democrats are running things.
“Are the rest of the GOP really so delighted, so sanguine that Pres. Trump is having difficulty getting his nomination through?”
Yes they are. They hate Trump. He beat their GOPE candidates like red-headed step children and said that he was going to drain the swamp. They love the swamp. Only a handful of congressional republicans(house and senate) voted for Trump. The rest went for hillary.
But its true, though, that Californias election system is purposefully and effectively designed to prevent any Republican from appearing on the ballot for U.S. Senate
I am as militant as anyone on this absurdity. However, there is no reason for the Senators to make a public stand now. The exceptions to this should be Collins and Murkowski. They could let the steam out of this. But they won’t yet not until Thursday.
A for the other senators, given that the Thursday testimony by Ford is set (I do not believe she will testify), speaking out would be politically poor as they can be blasted for not keeping an open mind and being anti-woman - consider the media capitalizing on this. Unfortunately, it does have some affect on people. There is nothing to be gained by speaking up as no actions would be changed.
If Ford refuses to testify or has her testimony demonstrates it is a sham, then they could speak about the phoniness and blast the Rats and their tactics. Thus by waiting their condemnation will be more effective.
The Senators support or thoughts should be known to McConnell and Grassley so that the most effective actions can be undertaken.
The key is to get Kavanaugh confirmed.
One last comment. I am a strong advocate of Trump’s tweets and most are very helpful and effectively strategic. His Friday tweet was politically dumb and unhelpful.
But it might get you a Republican governor if Cox can pull it off.
Lawyers on the left sceming to destroy an innocent man, lawyers on the right protecting their own interest. That’s why we did not election another lawyer President. And yet the lawyers are dragging the country into hell.
Good points
