Safety Earl Thomas Flips Off Seahawks' Sideline While Being Carted Off in Fourth Quarter

Seahawks safety Earl Thomas was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Cardinals after getting injured on Arizona's game-tying score.

Thomas had a cast on his left leg and was taken to locker room to get X-rays on it. After the game, coach Pete Carroll said Thomas had a lower leg fracture, but gave no update on his timetable for a return.

Thomas held out this offseason in hopes of getting an extension on his contract. His is currently in the last year of a four-year deal and is set to become a free agent this offseason.

As Thomas was coming off the field, he gave a middle finger to the Seattle sideline. Thomas has been vocal about the fact that he wanted the contract extension because he was afraid of suffering a major injury while the team was not committed to his future.

Wasn’t a player suspended and/or heavily fined for showing his IQ indicator a couple of years back?

Maybe he can get on with Kepernick and the Nike deal? You would think he would be happy letting his leg get broke. He doesnt have to perform at all now. Just run his mouth and get paid. (His expectations? HA HA!!)

I dont give a $h!t how good he WAS. If your retirement plans include reaping the benefits of playing a childs ball game for less than 10 years of your life to finance your grand children’s lifestyle, you should have been ready for both your legs to be broken off at the knees the year before you planned to go free agent.

I dont watch football in any form any more because they advertise that they are going to disrespect the American flag at every game. Lots of kneeling and dissing the ones who pay the checks. Very UN-American bunch.

Letting him off easy?

I think a team can suspend a player for “conduct unbecoming to the team” up to a maximum of 4 weeks.

So (if my memory serves) he’s on an approx $8M base salary for 16 games, you can dock him $2M.

Personally, the only thing I would give him is a swift kick in the nads. He’s too brittle to give a long term contract to and will be lucky to be in the league next year, let alone sign for the veteran league minimum.

FUET!

Earlier in the broadcast they went through all of the injuries that the Seahawks have had on this field. Richard Sherman’s achilles and a whole bunch more. I was thinking maybe he was flipping off the field, but probably not.

I wonder if he had practiced more his body would have been in better shape and he wouldn’t have been injured. Just last week he was saying how he was looking out for Number 1. “If I even have a headache - I’m not practicing. I gotta’ take care of my body.”

Karma’s a bitch.
