Mine is in the 150s. But my ambition was curtailed in the early 2000’s. I got sick of making money at the behest of other people. I took a deal and started my own business. Lots of fun.

A few years ago, I sold my business and took a job in a hospital. I am no Dr, but it is fun to run circles around the folks in administration. Data analysis is fun for me. I do stuff with data that makes their heads spin. They look at me like I am Harry Potter.

And my key to the magic? I read Excel manuals. Yeah, I am a friggin’ genius. The rest of the world isn’t stupid—they stopped educating themselves about ten minutes out of high school. They stop being curious.

IQ is extremely correlated with success in life. The only reason the left tries to downplay it is race, specifically Africans and African americans.

Especially if you’re a college athlete.

IMHO, IQ test, and most test for that matter, reward people with near photographic memory. Memory abilities, while very useful, do not speak to ones ability to use that information constructively.

Very successful people remember what interest them very well, what doesn’t interest them they remember poorly. I have no idea how to correct testing procedures, but i think aptitude test are closer to being useful than IQ.

Bump! I was graduated with honors from the finest schools in the world... When I was a boy they put me on the “short bus” to a “special school” because of my results on an IQ test. Turns out, I was just a boy being a boy. Who knew? The world is filled with witches and warlocks who want to classify, alter, medicate, and subjugate. LOL Any wonder I’m a Freeper today?

IQ means a lot. IQ is a general measure of how quickly one can associate pieces of information they have stored up to solve a problem that they currently have. the quicker the ind the better advantage you have. There are workarounds for poor IQ and there are still ways to fail with high IQ. But IQ matters

This article while interesting is antidotal not statistical. Statistically, with sufficient sample size, much can be learned using IQ. Bell Curve, anyone?

Let the humble bragging begin.

“I’m a member of mensa, but I’m just a regular guy who drives a truck etc...”

We aren't allowed to talk about IQ because it doesn't give us the desired result.

What matters is indefatigable determination. Illustrious people are tireless.

You need a basic level of intelligence to get by in life. But there is also another factor I will describe as drive but is more complex. Some people are satisfied with things as they are, some are constantly driven to find a better, faster, more efficient way. You can see this in every walk of life. Combine that drive with intelligence and performance explodes.

I know many people that are much more intelligent than me but they are satisfied with things how they are.

My catholic HS placed us in classes at four levels. The first level had the highest IQ and so on. I was 127 and was in the highest group. There was one guy in our groups who must have been off the chart. BTW never had my IQ tested again.

I was the youngest in class and didn’t know that till a reunion. I refer felt less smart than anyone except the one guy.

I value experience. As I went along in my 28 year career, i found at any level (I had 23 jobs progressively analytical and management not hands on, but needed people skills) I was soon better than my bosses. But i also had extra training. I did consulting work in 15 states and one day into their systems nd work sites I could deliver training with relevant examples etc.

I think success is a result of a lot of variables including IQ, but common sense and experience would be a little higher on my list because they lead to intuition which can be more on target than not.

My 25 cents worth

It depends who's taking the test.
