Dr Aaron Fleming is the Superintendent

Brooks Matthews is the Deputy Superintendent

wmatthews@harnett.k12.nc.us

The principal needs to be disciplined. What a poor role model she is for those students.

I believe that a better course of action would be to remind the principle that they are legally an adult and legally exercising their 1st Amendment rights. Further, that if she had a problem with that, she should call the police.

That puts the principle in the position of taking an affirmative action to deny the student’s rights and places that action on record. It lays the ground work for further legal action by the student.

Having said that, I also recognize that most teens will not push an school confrontation with authority to the point of involving the police, so it is kind of a tough situation.

A couple of students should do an experiment:

One wear a Trump 45 jersey, and another wear an 0bama 44 jersey, and sit a ways apart but well in view of everyone.

Make sure to record the results.

The call 1-800-LAWYERS.

For the most part, public school education is really just public school propaganda. They learn almost nothing in K-12 and much of what they learn is wrong.

Sounds like a bit of sedition. Trump is not a “candidate”, he’s the President. Denying a person from his/her fondness the President of the United States, is denying him/her of their First Amendment rights, and “unAmerican activities on the behalf of the principal.

Right. My favorite, though, is the "somebody's got to create a website to overtake [that crappy social media site]" when that person has absolutely no idea the work and money involved in developing an entire brand.

Posting contact information is child's play and simple enough even a FReeper can do it.

Yes, I agree. I was just using the short and to the point version. lol.

Agree, tell the principle it's her first amendment right and if the principle has a problem with that call the police.

One thing to say, “I’m 18 and an adult.” Another thing to say, “I don’t care what the school I attend thinks.”

You’re talking about references for applications to college and such.

Not that that power is warranted, but the principal does have it.

” You’re talking about references for applications to college and such. Not that that power is warranted, but the principal does have it.”

The principal only has that power if the parents permit it. In every community, there’s a schoolboard. It’s up to parents to attend schoolboard meetings to be certain that schools are run according to their wishes. If parents can’t do that, then they deserve every misery visited on their children.

Ok, lets cut the apologist crap. Not fighting back is the reason this stuff is happening. This "principle" is obviously a left wing nutjob that has no business being in the position she is in. It appears this is a public school so the taxpayers sign her paycheck and that means no she should not have the power to force her leftist crazy ideas on our children. The left accuses us of being intolerant and like all things left it's a lie. People like this end up being principles of high schools because we do tolerate it and it's time we stop. This principle is unhinged and unfit for the position she is in.

Did you ask those people? Or do you like being in a state of confusion unable to understand?
