Often they’d all hang their heads or look at what I’m pointing at . . . but usually the guilty one would head for the other room

I bought my first house in 1966 & promptly got a dog. Still have dogs—and quite a variety.
The “WHO DID THIS? “ sternly spoken is the best way to flush out the culprit. The guilty one(s) ALWAYS try to slink away.
