It's a great ad, and it is 100% the truth. Menendez did have sex with underage prostitutes. Some might even call that rape (I sure would).

Still, millions in NJ will vote for him.

One of the most powerful voting blocks in NJ is public employees, especially the teachers. This is NOT a slam against all educators, many of whom are great people, but the teachers in NJ are some of the most arrogant and entitled in the nation.

Property taxes in NJ are a crime against the citizens, and the majority of those taxes go to schools, and a huge chunk of those go to salaries and benefits.

NJ public pensions are an economic time bomb, and will bankrupt the state in a very short time if nothing is done.

Sounds like Pennsylvania. Same (bad) deal. We are currently in a fight to work up the votes to pass Pa HouseBill/Senate Bill 76 - which would completely eliminate school property taxes in Pennsylvania. The PSEA (Pa State Teachers Assoc) owns many of our legislators. It doesn’t matter to them that many people lose their homes to tax sale every year!

My SIL is a retired NJ teacher. What a benefits package. Much better than Fed retirees.

I’ve consistently seen numbers over 70% for percentage spent on schools here in NJ for many years - even leftist outlets used it. Don’t know why it is shown so low on that graph. With the 2% cap on increases for many years, the municipal portion decreased as teachers still got 4%+ increases each year - and the effects are visible: horrible roads, “stop” signs with branches obstructing them, etc.; those workers have a weaker union.

That was how Governor Christie was elected twice; he was the mortal enemy of the teachers’ unions, but he would publicly fight - and expose the huge salaries they raked in. It worked, and while his reputation was tarnished by years of non-stop enemedia attacks, homeowners knew he was in their corner. Now we have this freak Murphy, who recently closed off state lands for the annual bear hunt. Both sides were left unhappy, as the left said he promised to end it altogether (not feasible - they have too many run-ins with people) while the hunters bagged fewer bears. He is quickly learning what the last Dem governor knew: You can’t squeeze blood from a stone, and there is no money to pay for his leftist agenda.

In the meantime, Americans and their employers continue fleeing NJ, and there are fewer and fewer normals to oppose Menendez. That Hillary was here recently campaigning for the little crook speaks volumes; few Dems would avail themselves of her services.

It sure doesn’t.
When I moved to PA, the first they did is DOUBLE my property taxes (just mine. Not my neighbors). I contested this as unfair, and went to an “appeal” with the powers-to-be - who said, literally “we’ll do whatever we want to do” and told me to pound sand.

People should be reminded that Menendez was not acquitted of the charges. The trial resulted in a hung jury. That means that some jurors were convinced of his guilt, and refused to be intimidated.

We have that here in Michigan too. Owners property taxes can’t rise higher than the Rate of Inflation (headlee Amendment) regardless of assessment.

However, when the property is sold the new buyer gets his/her taxes set at the current Assessment from that point headlee kicks in on that parcel.

For those of us that have remained in the same home for decades it’s nice, but the idea of putting it up for sale and then purchasing something different and getting hit on a big yearly tax bill is rather unappealing...atleast to us.
