Roseanne isn’t back, but The Conners are. The highly anticipated follow-up show premiered Tuesday night to lower-than-expected ratings but critical approval. Besides tuning in to find out how the show did away with Roseanne, what did viewers actually think about the show?
The consensus? Not great.
“This show should have stayed ‘cancelled,'” one viewer said succinctly. Another commenter was equally as blunt, stating; “Probably the worst show I’ve ever seen.”

Worse than the Alec Baldwin show?
I didn’t think it was all that bad. Granted, I didn’t like that they killed Roseanne off via opiod overdose, but at least they didn’t portray her as a druggie or anything. I thought the treatment of Dan’s anger towards the woman who had given her the prescription pills - when he was really just working through his grief - was exceptionally good.

If Roseanne were smart she would have released something like “please everyone watch the show and support my friends”.

I have zero interest in it.
Saw lots of comments online from people who watched last night and won’t watch again.
They might have been OK if they had played it as a straight sitcom.
But my sense is that they turned it into a victory lap and stomped around preaching in-your-face political correctness.
Why would anybody watch THAT?
If the critics liked it, ordinary viewers probably won’t.
Which is why I am selective of what I watch. So sick of it all.
Actually, it was very somber and serious, and it dealt with a most unmentionable topic...the horrible abuse of prescription abuse of pain meds. It showed how easy it is to get opiods, in any suburban neighborhood in America. How neighbors and friends swap opiods. i was surprised, and a bit awakened...cleaned out my meds cabinet today.. Could’t believe how many old opiods were there from some serious dental stuff, etc.
Can’t understand why anyone would tune in. Screw the network leftards.
John Goodman is an exceptional actor. One of the few guys where if he were reading the phone book, it would be engaging.
Michael Caine is in that league as well.

Place her her new show as lead in to Last Man Standing
with Allen making a guest appearance to welcome
her to the neighborhood.
