For more fun, remind leftists that Mussolini was a mover and shaker in the Italian socialist party (editor of their official newspaper) until he disagreed with them about his desire to attack the Austro-Hungarian Empire during World War One to take over some culturally Italian regions. He left/was forced out over international relations, not social or economic reasons.

Not true- most liberals are failrly well educated, yet they are not wise enough to learn history past their favorite leftist freedom fighter.
Case in point: My former boss, a professor at the university I was contracting with, was argumentitve to the point of apoplexy when discussing the left political spectrum- he insisted that NAZI were far right folks who were racists and strong central govt types. I agreed- but defined what NAZI stood for- he was disbelieving. I asked him to look it up for himself. Next time we had the opportunity, I asked ( he was not volunteering what he learned I suppose,(disingenuous liberal he is) He admitted that he was wrong- Nazism was indeed a socialist wing, just to the right ( hence the false mantra that NAZI are “Rightists”), of the socialist movement, whereas communism was to the far left of the spectrum....govt control of labor/property vice govt ownership of all.
They are not stupid, but simply absolutely closed minded to anything they have not heard from their masters and therefore dangerous to all.
Thinking feeling men are a threat to the whole construct.

I was taught and still ascribe that NAZI’s are nowhere near the “right” side of the political spectrum. When did ever hear a real NAZI ever proclaim property rights, individual rights, freedom of self-determination? You never did because these are ‘right wing’ ideas.
What they espouse is submission to the state, the state is the collective authority, the individual is secondary to the collective/state’s will. Decidedly left wing ideas.
They were everywhere 50 years ago too.
