Like so many older Democrats, Willie’s head is still in the 70s when he railed against Republicans and authority figures of any kind who wouldn’t let him smoke pot whenever he wanted.
That is a HUGE reason so many Americans — especially older Americans — have such a hate on for conservatives.
I went to high school in the ‘70s. I have friends who still hate all cops, all the time, just because they got busted for pot when they were teenagers.
It’s still a huge mindset for a LOT of people.
Jimmy Buffet’s songs about smuggling drugs loose some of their humor when you consider the 72,000 opioid caused deaths in the USA last year.
