Vanity. Please post quotes of your stupid local news casters.
Example. Students are REQUIRED to participate in a VOLUNTARY program. Whats voluntary about that?

I don’t watch local news anymore. Here, they are so unattractive it is too much of a strain.
The stations seem to be in competition for hiring unattractive people.
Ha I have noticed that too. We have a local Falica - thats a fat girls name.
Just saying
To me the most annoying thing is when the local news makes a new anchor hire from out of town, and that person butchers the unusual pronunciations of local towns.
You can spot them a mile away. “I’m from not-here!”
A female “reporter” in Detroit about 25 years ago. Bitter cold winter night. She’s in front of a bank thermometer pontification about how cold it is and how our skin can freeze in seconds....seconds. She points to the bank thermometer and breathlessly intones that it is 4 below zero. She apparently didn’t know what the “C” meant. It was actually about 16 degrees Fahrenheit.
Another clown described the getaway vehicle as a black Bonneville Pontiac. He said it twice. In Detroit. He didn’t even know the names of the car companies.
The newscaster didnt make up that rule -the state government along with schools did.
Zahn's apparently a very nice person, and gave Howie a ride one day.
She talked about getting job in Houston, and the station sent her straight to "pronunciation school". The station learned the hard way that an out-of-towner wouldn't be accepted if s/he couldn't get the Houston dialect down on a group of words, specifically including local locale names.
I was in HS, listening to the radio one morning, and the DJ's reading the local news about thefts at dorms at State U.
"...school security said 'It's either somebody from within school, or an outsider.'"
The DJ stops reading, and says "That's really narrowing it down."
Sadly, it sounds like something a school really would do. A very progressive school, you know.
