Good question. John James could have used a boost from Trump. Could have held it in Detroit, and brought along Kanye West.
Our entire executive leadership is nuts and they offer us Keith Ellison.
Hopefully, it will more than the lakes making us blue.

We don’t know what went on behind the scenes. Possible local campaigns wanted to avoid being tied too closely to the President. There’s plenty of RINOs in charge at the state and local levels.
He’s going to the places that are the biggest pick-ups or needed holds.
It isnt anything more elaborate than that.
Those of us here dont need a rally do do our jobs.

Minnesota also had a lot of swing house seats. He should have gone.
Next election he should think of house seats because it will be close next election.
In 2016, his team knew exactly where to go and when.....no need to second guess.

My wife and I were voters 1 & 2 in long line — Red area Michigan. Looks like very heavy Rep turnout.
I’ve heard the president sing the praises of John James, and a visit to Michigan WAS on his list of stops. It did get removed, unfortunately, and a second visit to Florida was added. I guess he figured Florida was too close and they needed the help. I would love, love, love to see John James pull it off. He’s a joy to listen to.
Strategy. For every Republican A Trump rally convinces to go out and vote, a Democrat also votes as well. Trump is polarizing. So you hold rallies in red states to gin up turnout, which will favor Republicans. You don’t go to Michigan because it still leans blue. A rally would fire up Trump people, but it would also fire up Detroit. That’s why Trump holds rallies in Republican areas of Republican states.
Maybe there was some doubt how much it would help as Michigan is still a mostly blue state that is perhaps turning purple.
He must have seen it as a lost cause. It looks like we are losing the Govenor and that wretched Stabenaw will stay. She ran a bunch of ads posing with soldiers phony as can be but effective. It is amazing Trunp carried Mich. Union a-holes are everywhere.
There is a very good reason why Trump did not go to Minnesota and Michigan. They are still blue states, which means that a visit by Trump would likely bring out otherwise unmotivated Democrats to the polls. You don’t see Hillary campaign in Florida “s panhandle? Why? Because you don’t want a higher turnout in an area that will vote 2:1 against you. We want higher turnout in AZ , Tennessee, Missouri, etc, but lower turnout in Michigan and Minnesota.
