In a word..."mixed". There was alot of US House "dead" GOPe Wood cleared out last night chief among it was "Speaker" Ryan and his ilk. Let face it the loss of the House really SUX, BUT we HAVE to get to work NOW on the 2020 Election! Get REALLY good solid candidates recruited NOW. The Dems WILL overplay their hands(they ALWAYS do) and they WILL be dumped in 2020! Silver lining, WE OWN the Senate!

Reagan wasn’t confronting communists

OK, that right there made me laugh out loud.

“The dirty little secret is that most Americans don’t WANT freedom ... because that freedom includes the freedom to fail.”

Freedom goes hand-in-hand with personal responsibility, and personal responsibility has all but become an anachronism in modern American culture, especially among the young.

I’m 67, and a cancer patient (but I’m in remission!), so my game is in the fourth quarter, and I’m down by a touchdown and almost out of timeouts.

It wasn’t a blue wave where I live (Dupage County, IL); it was a tsunami. Dupage County used to be a very conservative, very Republican county. However, in recent years Rats from Chicago and Cook County have been moving here in droves (Rats do this, you know: They destroy their own communities then move to unsullied communities and try to wreck them).

Last night was a bloodbath for our area, as gun-grabbing, tax-loving, liberal Rat women took over virtually ALL elected offices.

We are SOOOOOO screwed.

I live downstate in CU. It was a blow here too. It does look like our republican congressman is going to barely hold on thanks to the farming towns..

>>>A lot of these "RINO" House members -- like mine -- were RINOs because that's the only type of Republican who could win in these districts.

Agreed. People suffer from bias. They think that their world view is everyone’s world view. They think they should be able to elect the same type of republican in Jersey that I elect here in Southeast Texas. It ain’t happening. This is where the democrats are smarter than the GOP-they don’t eat their own.

Speaking of dead wood......

Something to keep in mind is that Pelosi is 78, Waters is 80, and Feinstein is 85.

Ginsberg is 85 and Beyer is 80, and IIRC he’s got health issues already.

None of the Assoc. justices are spring chickens either.

People don’t live forever.

I’d say there’s a reasonable chance that some attrition is going to be happening over the next few years.

For my part, although I will not pray for evil to befall someone, or that they would die, I am praying that God would remove them by whatever means He sees fit.

So what happens to those senate seats when they kick off or leave office? I know the SOCTUS means another Trump appointee, aka, another WIN, but the senate?

If we could get the illegal vote out of the picture, things would improve, but short of a turn around by the people, I don’t know.

Umm ... An incumbent congrsscritter has ~ 95% chance of re-election. Some 45 pubbie reps bailed on PDJT and us.

Now we have two years of misery with a dim majority in the house.

The bright side is that President Trump can stand up and say give me timely acceptable budgets or I will veto them the moment they hit my desk. They cannot overcome a budget veto.

Shut it down. All “normal” Fed checks go out - only “Non-essential” Fed employees get a 2 week vacation with reimbursement will “suffer”. PDJT can tweet these facts and stand firm against the house. Make it clear - non-essential employees get their back pay.

Any crap coming out of the house should face massive lawsuits on whatever tenable, arguable basis (See Dem tactics for reference) just to grind change to a halt.

In short, veto for actual conservative gains (Dem concessions) or stand firm.

Can’t stop.

Fire Sessions. Appoint a current “reliable” non-recusal-oriented DOJ Executive that will appoint a special council to investigate Uranium One, Obama, Hillary, et al (including Mueller, Brennan and Clapper) for treason and lesser crimes including littering - might as well go back 20 or 30 years just to be sure.

Of course, the Sec. State/Clinton foundations and pay for play would be of particular interest. I suspect the links to the truly powerful and the Russian connections would easily be established.

We still have the Senate for any national security, economic, border security, name your issue to stand firm on conservative principles.

I don’t think Trump (and others) would take that laying down

Normal, patriotic Americans won't take that laying down ... particularly well-armed ones!

Doesn’t it take 2/3s to get the vote to impeach? How would that ever happen?. And even if they do gwet a vote and impeach him, who says he has to quit?

Let us not forget, CLINTON, the Bill, did NOT quit. He proceeded on as if it didn’t matter. And, ultimately, it does not.

The issue is “anti white”. They don’t quite advertise it openly (yet although very close) but their constituents know. Unfortunately obtuse white soccer moms haven’t gotten the memo yet and continue to vote their children into a future of violence and poverty.

Thanks to the assclowns in Washoe and Clark counties in NV, we are now officially blue. Gov., Lt. Gov both went blue. Heller lost his seat so now we have 2 hairy screed wanna be’s in the senate. Pretty damn sad. Now, back to work.

Trump needs to act as if 2019 is the only thing that matters.

Trump needs to build up a defense against the Democrats going after him via impeachment, leaking his taxes, and using Mueller to dirty him up for 2020.

To do this, he should do the following:

  1. As soon as the 115th Congress adjourns sine die, Trump should fire Sessions (or accept his resignation), and fire Rosenstein.
  2. Trump should recess appoint a bulldog, a fighter, a person who doesn't want a Beltway career, and who is willing to make the tough calls the way that Sessions wouldn't. Somebody outspoken, like Jeanine Pirro who appeared on stage with Trump, might be a good choice. This appointment would expire at the end of 2019, so would be immune to Senate interference for the duration.
  3. Trump should nominate a replacement for Rosenstein through the normal Senate process. Let the Senate Republican Judiciary Committee members like Lindsey Graham have a platform to counter House Democrats investigating Trump, like Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, and Jerry Nadler.
  4. The new Attorney General should immediately take control of the Mueller investigation, demanding an immediate briefing by Mueller, and potentially shutting down the investigation outright. Let the 55/56 Republicans in the Senate deal with Democrat howls of obstruction, since 2019 is going to be about all-out war with the Democrats. It's best in the short term to take this weapon off the table now.
  5. The new Attorney General can also take a harder line on illegal immigration actions to counter Democrat obstruction of border security.
  6. In 2020 when the recess appointment expires, Trump can formally nominate a permanent Attorney General and give Republicans another Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing to campaign from going into the 2020 election. Set the Democrats up for a repeat of their 2018 performance and show voters again what their choices are.

What should be done to convince voters that socialism will never work? Unfortunately 99% of parents throw their kids into the indoctrination centers (fka public schools) and they (parents) don’t talk about issues to their kids.
Here in Hillsborough, the Salle’s tax go raised because they need to fix schools. The school board can build a million dollar football stadium, but can’t spend money on AC units...? What BS...

Are we losing our longing to have freedom? I hope this is just a minor setback...I mean, look at the economy...we need candidates who’ll talk about what America means...we need to bring what conservativism means to youths..

The battle is still going on...we aren’t quitting...

BRAVO!!

I just posted, similar, on another thread.

Where are OUR efforts at educating the public, youth, etc. on the meaning of FREEDOM and conservatism...which is, essentially, equal FREEDOMS, for all.

My property taxes have just eclipsed $11,000 per year and we just passed a local school bond for $160 million (yes, that much), in a school district that’s declining. Michigan has gone from purple to blue and we are now trending toward Illinois for complete insanity.
