All you have to do is roll thru some of these races to see that a bunch of these seats were won by a fraction of a percent or so. It’s one thing to vote someone in to keep a check on a president, it’s quite another to appear to be removing someone you couldn’t beat at the ballot box. Especially with another presidential election right around the corner. Moreover, with a definitely more Trump oriented Senate, impeachment would be some sort of suicide pact for these new house democrats to go on record voting for, knowing the chances in the other chamber are exactly ZERO.

The chances of convicting Bill Clinton in the Senate was darn near zero. But the House went ahead and impeached him anyway.
I think there’s a good chance the new House will impeach Trump. Back in 1998, most Republicans disliked Bill Clinton. But it wasn’t anything like the searing, deep hatred the Left has for Trump today.
