Ferocious and fairly common, wild boar are a major problem across Japan. Run into one of these beasts and, as one man in Fukuoka found out firsthand recently, you could end up in serious trouble.

The video below shows a while collar worker walking down a street in Fukuoka City’s Nishi Ward near JR Imajuku Station on October 26 at a little after 7 a.m. when all of a sudden a wild boar charges at him and hits him head on completely knocking the man off of his feet. Following the first charge the wild boar turns around and continues the assault, repeatedly headbutting the man. As the man is scrambling to get back on his feet witnesses in nearby cars can be heard blaring their horns in an effort to scar off the wild boar. These efforts prove to be successful and the boar runs away.

The man in the video above is reported to have been bitten in the left thigh by the boar and received 13 stitches to close the wound.

The person who shot the video began filming it when she noticed the wild boar wandering around the area. She says she shot the video to show police since there had been reports starting two or three days prior to the attack that a wild boar was in the area.

The wild boar was tracked down by a local hunting club and exterminated.

Salaryman — he must be one of those lower echelon super heroes like Ordinary Man and Mundane Woman.

He’d be sitting next to the gravy and potatoes here.

Pity that Japan's gun laws are so strict.

The last line of the article says the boar was eventually hunted down and shot.

I knew this would happen.

The wild boars in Japan have been learning Judo.

That wild boar was a Black Belt.

You’re walking down the street in Japan and you’re looking up high to make sure Godzilla doesn’t get you when WHAM! A sneaky little pig knocks you on your behind.

Boarzilla!

Salaryman is the asian term for corporate cubicle dwellers. I’ve seen it used in Korean, Japanese and Chinese dramas.

My brother lives in the Japan countryside. Every now and then the neighborhood kairan (a house to house circulating news letter) comes around asking for contributions to buy bullets for the hunters to shoot these pest. He usually contributes a few hundred yen because they are a nuisance. Not bad eating either.

Looks like the boar had it in more for the guy’s bag than for the guy. Maybe it was made out of someone he knew and he was settling an old grudge?

You left out hourlyman.
Salaryman? So if your annual salary for say chemical engineer, is $110,00, you would still be looked down on?
Call me “Salary Man”!!

Maybe there was something special in the bag for lunch?

Whatever, he did not give it up!
