Well I do think you have to have the “ear” to have a broad taste in varied venues.......it use to irritate my friends I could always tell what music would end up at the top when first out....
I'm not particularly fond of acid rock nor heavy metal but Stairway to Heaven with the fusion of hard rock with the classical is what makes the song so interesting. And there's a few others that were interesting orchestrations as well

The video hits a lot of childhood memories as my mom loved to watch musicals and listen to the stars of her era. Although, like many great cooks she had weight issues her entire life.. that never got in the way of her “Kicking up her heels” as she use to call it. I'd watch her dress up once in awhile and recalled the sequins on her dress.....it turned an otherwise simple woman into a star in my eyes. Rare she did so but it sure left an impression on me.

Thanks.
Plenty of Astaire, but I didn’t see my other fave: Vera-Ellen.

It isn’t JUST the editing, although that was phenomenal.
They had to have an immense knowledge of film, know their own favorite dancing scenes, fit them together to the song music and lyrics, and place everything in the right order to be amusing. Fabulous work. A work of taste and talent and genius equal to the song itself and the dancing.

Astaire was the best I understand, and did have several different female partners along the way. Ginger Rodgers is the name I remember my mother always talking about.
