I went to the doctor a couple months ago, weighed 171. The water heaters I handle at work are 165. Literally throwing around my own body weight.
My knee and broken leg don't really like running, they go about a mile and a half and say Nope, that's it.
So I do a lot of cycling. Look into that.
Low impact swimming might be just the thing... many cities have heated public swimming pools.
I started at 320 pounds on May 27. By my last weigh in on Nov. 9, I dropped 74 lbs to 246. I am hoping I can drop 26 more pounds by next month for a total drop of 100 lbs since May. Hopefully my increased exercise schedule will help me reach that goal.
