The Depravity of Climate-Change Denial
New York Times ^ | November 26, 2018 | Paul Krugman

Posted on 11/26/2018 7:50:07 PM PST by EdnaMode

The Trump administration is, it goes without saying, deeply anti-science. In fact, it’s anti-objective reality. But its control of the government remains limited; it didn’t extend far enough to prevent the release of the latest National Climate Assessment, which details current and expected future impacts of global warming on the United States.

True, the report was released on Black Friday, clearly in the hope that it would get lost in the shuffle. The good news is that the ploy didn’t work.

The assessment basically confirms, with a great deal of additional detail, what anyone following climate science already knew: Climate change poses a major threat to the nation, and some of its adverse effects are already being felt. For example, the report, written before the latest California disaster, highlights the growing risks of wildfire in the Southwest; global warming, not failure to rake the leaves, is why the fires are getting ever bigger and more dangerous.

But the Trump administration and its allies in Congress will, of course, ignore this analysis. Denying climate change, no matter what the evidence, has become a core Republican principle. And it’s worth trying to understand both how that happened and the sheer depravity involved in being a denialist at this point.

There is climate change. The problem lies in how is the climate changing. It is the Maunder Minimum leading us into a little ice age

The depravity of ignoring long term natural cycles in solar activity, earth magnetic pole rotation, and changing macro climates; of assuming without proof that short-term climate variation must be man-made; and of clandestinely adjusting surface temperature measurement data in order to support pre-determined popular theories to permit Statists to justify a new Global authority and impose over and dictate to sovereign nations; over-riding the US Constitution and its Bill of Rights and its internal taxing schemes:

That is Mega Depravity!

What we are denying is the claim that if we give all our money to the ruling elite, that they can then keep it from changing.

Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!

"Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientifictechnological elite. -- From President Dwight D. Eisenhower's farewell speech

Was Eisenhower warring us about the likes of Al Gore and the leftist political agenda of the United Nation's Global Warming panel?

The science isn't settled and there are plenty of scientist who's voices aren't offered in the mainstream media, because the mainstream media has bought into global warming mythology offered by the scientific elitist and has come under the spell of climate change cultist. Even with the lack of hard core scientific facts to back up their soothsaying predictions, the left of center press continues to ignore opposing conclusions.

The closing sentence: “Republicans don’t just have bad ideas; at this point, they are, necessarily, bad people.”

From the so-called economist who confidently predicted that the economy would crash “forever” under DJT.

He’s not only a climate scientist but THE great judge of good and evil.

That side profile made methink, Is it just me or do a lot of the Left’s more ‘amorous’ types like Podesta and Wiener bear more than a resemblence to Goebbels? Coincidence. hmmm.

Makes the ‘Boys from Brasil’ approach more realistic in a way.

You don’t have to import the stooges, just present the ideas as so much ‘valid research’ to a receptive audience and let it blossom from there.

Climate change hysterics should have to answer the question: “How many people should die in order to avoid climate catastrophe?” Because if their plans are implemented, people will indeed die. People die because energy is too expensive every day. Mostly in the Third World.

The latest National Climate Assessment is going to look like the biggest lie ever told, when the full effects of the coming solar minimum hit us in another twelve months.

These climate change alarmists are going to become the biggest deniers walking, when food crops start failing, and millions run south for their lives.

If there is not a reversal of the trend then all this warmist BS is not going to matter and it will happen in a much shorter period than warming was predicted. My Tip: If you want to have a punt on the stock market look at companies who make thermal clothing rather than bikinis!

Funny how this climate change can cause forest fires and blizzards simultaneously. I wish Newton could have been around to see this new kind of science, it would have amazed him greatly. And it might have taken him better part of an hour to demolish it.

Do a search for Global Cooling, it’s what REAL SCIENCE is talking about today....

Which is why the Warmers are ramping up their fake science.

They know they are soon to be silenced by the facts!!!

NYT calls decades of insane forestry management allowing debris accumulation a “failure to rake the leaves”. And we’re anti-science?

Krugman is beyond “depraved stupidity”. He passed that marker about 20 years ago.

Right now he’s somewhere been scientifically illiterate, totally reality challenged, and a Mini-Marxist standing at the Kremlin wall, knocking on the door so that he can get in with the real pros. If ne can’t get in, he’ll go to the Cubans, Venezuelans, ex-Brazilian Marxists, etc. to find a home for his Marxist insanity and gross stupidity.

Give me a good old Red any time. At least they understood what Marx was saying. Krugman can’t even spell the guy’s name correctly.
