All of my firearms are EMP-hardened. I’m not too worried.

I don’t see how - Democrats keep making paper ballots long after the election is over.

If you want to scare yourself read William Forstchen’s One Second After. I sleep a little bit better since Trump has reigned Rocket Man in somewhat. I believe EMP is a more credible threat than the nuclear exchange we’ve all feared since the 50s.

While it is focused on the devastating impact an EMP hit would have on the military, it appears to support a congressional warning that up to 90 percent of the population on the East Coast would die in a year of an attack ...

Surprisingly, democrat voter turnout would not be affected.

They say that like it's a bad thing. Just kidding.

An EMP will save this country. Illegals will leave, snowflakes will starve, the stupid and the entitled will self destruct or be shot in the process of looting or being stupid. Liberals will be hardest hit. Those left will rebuild.

Wipes out democracy? Sounds good. Will EMP wipe out representative republic? If so, I’m not for it.

I can’t stand democracy. It was an epithet in Greece. It’s nothing more than mob rule.

If anything, EMP will all but guarantee democracy.

Union of Concerned Scientists

Not credible.

Lots of this was covered in a Congressional report about a decade ago.

This seems to be just a rehash by some lobbyist group.

Anybody know anything about the group that sponsored this?

As long as we have nuclear missiles on submarines, and assuming the Chinese haven’t hacked those, we should be fine. Anyone who tried an EMP attack on the US would pay the same price as if they tried to nuke us. So no one will do it. Just like with nukes.

The danger from nukes since the end of the cold war has always been the risk that a small one is set off in a major city and we don’t know who did it. That could be done with an EMP too, perhaps, but it would not kill anyone, and would only affect one city. To get the whole US, it has to be set off from space or on reentry. And if they did that, we would know where it came from.

And that EMP doesn’t have to be from a weapon, either. If the Carrington Event happened today, it would destroy civilization.

It must be budget time.

EMPs require a nuclear attack on the US. Anything large enough to knock out the entire nation is not something that would be built in a mountain in Korea. Thus, this type of attack would come from Russia or China. They would be a radioactive heap within half an hour.

Think about this for a minute or two. Ask yourself how we would respond to a nuke attack.

MAD still applies.

If we were talking about a massive Carrington event, it would not take out the the entire country.
