I would like some perch or bass! But he is new to it and so far, only bluegill.
Oh yes those studies which are never driven by politics, spite or greed.
I fish wild rivers and let everything go.
No matter how you look at it, you have killed far and away more fish than the most of us. Why lay the sermon on others now?
Now that’s a fish.
My only worry is how over fished these animals are. I’d like to see a moratorium on Blue Tuna and other species so that there’s a bigger population, but I go fishing myself and have nothing against those who hunt. The general rule is that, among fish, the females are larger, and the larger they are, the more babies they have, so it kinda pains me to see a large fish taken out, unless the stocks are really healthy.
Killed for photo op my Penn Slammer V ass
Smoked or jerk or charcoal grilled
Marlin may be the best dark meat fish you can eat
I LOVE IT!
it aint cheap for a reason...
My uncle (RIP) had two polar bear rugs - the heads still on them. One was really big, the other was “medium” in size. I imagine it was mid 60’s when he got them - he lived in Fort Churchill for awhile.
I always thought they had been made illegal to buy in later years.
Like any game animal, these fish are
regulated with catch limits. Without
a fisherman’s license fees, many of
these fish would be poached in their
prime of reproductive cycles, thus
jeopardizing their numbers. Hatcheries,
paid for by fisherman’s license fees,
insure healthy fish populations. Game wardens
police the catch to uphold the laws that also
insures healthy fish populations.
Without fishermen who are willing to pay
these fees, and follow the laws, there
would be no fish to catch. Most fishermen
I know, if they’re going to keep a legal
fish, are going to see that it gets eaten.
These animal lovers think that if all
hunting stopped, there would be a well
populated amount of any species. Most
game animals numbers exist today due
to effective game management.
Yep. I fed millions of people and got paid for it. Fishing to me was not a sport, it was a way to fed others and earn a living while risking my life - which almost happened a number of times.
Those studies were done by agencies including the feds who all had a bias to find the myth true. If there were any “politics, spite or greed”, it was and continues to be very much against commercial fishing and very pro sport fishing.
That fish isn’t just big - it’s “Old Man and the Sea” big....
___________
Embarrassing to talk like that, eh?
What's your "manly" plan with the baseball bat?
So the problem is that you’re mad about people “sport-fishing,” while you killed fish for a living, feeding “millions” of people better off than you, and who view you as but labor, a sort of piece of bait yourself.
And those damned sport-fisherman and their tans and their women only make it worse.
Is that it?
If you were here you’d know :)
I’m here all week :)
Polar Bear skins taken prior to 1972 are legal....................
You sound like you know much more than me.
So I will defer.
But we can’t control what the asian countries and other countries do.
And i dont think there’s a whole lot of laws going on over there regarding fishing.
Used to work with a guy who worked the Destin docks as a young man. Worked as a deck hand on many fishing boats while he was going to college.
He told me the big tunas would be bought immediately by Japanese reps and flown to Tokyo on ice. Some of the bigger ones went for 5-10 grand.................
BTW, i know you’re a smart guy so you know they use clubs to kill certain animals for their coats in certain regions to preserve the coat.
That’s what I meant by bat.
But like I said, you’re a well read guy and knew that or you wouldn’t make a comment that showed quite obviously that you dont know that.
So you must have been joking.
Cause i thought the WHOLE WORLD knew that.
Buonna notte, at least for me!! :)
Polar Bear rugs are worth their weight in gold........................see links above..................
I noticed that - amazing. Even as a kid I figured they must have been pretty pricy when they were legal to be sold. He had a son and an estranged daughter when he passed.
We get a Christmas card from the son (my cousin) every year. It always has a polar bear on it. He spent most of his childhood in Churchill.
