Is it a bad thing that this thread is making me hungry for seafood?
Though I hate to admit it Im somewhat in agreement with these animal rights people. Why kill the animal if your not going to consume it or donate it to someone who will.
“That fish was worth big bucks. It was consumed. It probably brought in well over $25K..”
Thanks for the Info. That was something I was not aware of.
Probably more profitable than dope and a nicer clientele.............
Not any more.
Not since I quit drinking.
The action just isn’t as thrilling when the only liquid at hand is under the ice lol.
And how many of these self-righteous heros are wild supporters of abortion?
Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, and you feed a man for his lifetime.
Slap a Liberal in the puss with a fish, and the world is a better place.”””
Needs to be a bumper sticker.
Very low cost of living. Nice people.
Northern Michigan, the upper 2/3 or more of the state is a vast forest with small villages dotting the map. They say we Michiganders spend more time outside in the winter than any other season. It is delightful. I often look for reasons to stay outside longer after I have filled the birdfeeders.
Most everyone you meet upnorth will be carrying.
we have lots to do besides hunting
Once you come north enough it will be like stepping back in time about 50 years. Groceries are very inexpensive. Michiganders are outdoors folk above all. Snowmobiles are everywhere. I have hitch hiked on them. Once I had a sheriff deliver a subpoena on one to our door.
We have awesome northern lights and great dark skies for stars.
What you won't find here - Nightlife. Much Television. Good phone reception. Cities or any of the amenities of them - like concerts, ballet, etc.
There’s a lot of money in this thing!!
And just whispering to someone who deals narcotics on a high level (not that I do) will land you 20 to life in the blink of an eye.
I’ve done plenty wrong when I was younger but I NEVER sold narcotics.
I don’t want to be responsible for a death and I didn’t want to do 20 years!!
Last time I checked, nobody has ever died from a Bear Rug.................
Might edumakake ya some..........
Them’s the facts - I fished for a living for 30 years (from Florida to Alaska) ... tales to the contrary are sport fishermen myths, with study after study testifying to the falsity of the myth - this is especially true with bottom fishing as opposed to surface fishing.
If God didn’t want man to eat animals, He wouldn’t have made them out of meat. - Homer Simpson
In a previous life, I worked in Tokyo's Ginza district . . . about a 15 minute walk from Tsukiji, the fish market district. If you wanted to show a business associate something really different, you'd walk over to Tsukiji's restaurant row and it was like heaven for fish and seafood lovers.

It would be a smash hit as a film, especially with the Italians included!!!
Spoiler alert: the bears win!
I've got a lot of yellow fin tuna...down in the GOM...never was approached by anyone wanting to buy.
Don't mean it does not happen..........
If you watched The Sopranos you saw what happened when Paulie and Chris chased that crazy Russian into the forest in the dead of winter!!
We’re not good in the elements!!
ya know, with my history of knowing wiseguys, and with someone’s knowledge of bear skins and how twos and the legal issues, it might just make a pretty funny script :)
Ask him how old he is. DUH!
