young men who watch an excessive amount of pornography are less likely to get married.
Probably because young women find them really, really creepy.
To: Red Badger
I contend that young men who aren’t out in the world living life at that age and are spending so much time at home looking at pron were probably not the most likely to get married in the first place.
in fact, it might be keeping some potential serial killers off the streets

Funny. I know more than a few people in the adult video industry here in the valley for many..many years and a good number of them are MARRIED.
It’s just that..they’re sometimes swingers :)

This kind of makes sense, doesn't it? People seem to be getting married later and later in life..late 20s, mid 30s...and it's expensive as hell to set up a household these days. And what if you don't want kids?
Yankin' is perfectly fine for people too lazy even for Tinder.

A forthcoming study in the Sexuality & Culture journal has suggested that young men who watch an excessive amount of pornography are less likely to get married.
The opposite was not true for young women, however, said the authors...
What? Good grief!

Men need to learn how to talk in society. Watching and liking porn makes you an expert in masturbation, not in being a normal social person who has a passion for women , understanding them and thus relationship piloting.
The reason porn might work for women is because women have not the same learning curve and effort level to make in order to access men.
Men have to do all the work in dating, not women. Porn dispenses men from the work and thus dispenses them from relationship seeking or abilities. It shrinks the brain over time.

Or maybe they are just evaluating the products of feminist domination of education and mass media and coming to the rational conclusion that porn is better? :)

Of course: The less a guy qualifies as marriageable, the more likely he is to watch porn. Duh.

At that age, it still comes down to the basics: boys are shy and afraid to ask girls out, and girls have the upper hand in selecting their mates for long-term relationships.
Porn watching, apparently, is a coping mechanism. Perhaps the cause and effect are reversed? Boys revert to porn because of shyness and fear of rejection, instead of porn making them less likely to meet girls and get married. Girls view porn as a curiosity, unrelated to choosing mates?

Corelation does not equal causation. Basic tenet of science.
Could just as well be young men have no interest in marriage, for whatever reason, and so turn to porn for a sexual outlet.
In fact, that makes a lot more sense than their proposal.

The researchers argued that it could be concluded that young adult men, regardless of how religious they are, will have a lower likelihood of getting married as young adults if they frequently consume pornography.
So, religious men, who don’t observe religious tenets, don’t marry at a higher rate than the non-religious, who also don’t observe those tenets?

I would be more persuaded by the religious subtext if I had not been in Youth Ministry long ago.
Being a truly decent, moral young man relegates a male to the strictly-friends category. Church Girls have a fatal attraction to Bad Boys - whether they view pornography or not is entirely incidental.
Decency and morality mean two things to the instinctual (carnal) female - in or out of the church:
One: He would not be an exciting or inventive lover.
Two: He does not need to be redeemed and reformed by her love.
