Of course it is a dig at Trump. Everytime the bastards refer to Bush as a kind and gentle man they are bashing Trump. Thank God Trump is not a gentle man, he is a kind man in his own way, which the media detest as they can’t push him around. We don’t need a pussy for POTUS, we need a tough guy. MAGA!
I won’t be able to check......google is blocked from my computer.
Hover over the logo and read the caption.
It is entirely a leftist thing, the doodle.
Any given day it is dedicated to someone who is anathema to you or I.
I understand that everything is politics to some but sometimes we should take a step back and understand there is something more to this world than politics.
Not really. If you don’t go through life looking for a reason to get your panties in a twist you find they stay comfie.
Well, I don’t pay it much attention because I decided not to, but it does bother me that things I do, mouse clicks I make, or programs I use benefit people who do a daily doodle of chums of Fidel Castro or Che Guevara, especially when I have no option to avoid it.
I wouldn’t know. My google bookmark takes me straight to the advanced search page. It never changes.
Also daily doodle of National Children’s Day, Mr Roger’s birthday. Rube Goldberg’s birthday. Big days in space exploration.
Click on it and everything is about Bush Sr.
You have the luxury of being able to accept them in all their forms. I don’t. I am forced to use their products, and I greatly resent it.
But I am glad Google doesn’t bother you at all. I wish I could go that path.
Almost any politician who dies in the Trump era will be praised and worshiped and described as respectful, honorable and caring who use gentle respectful tones...And within seconds they’ll report more fake news about how Trump is an uncaring vindictive racist Nazi who is destroying America and is such a contrast to the polite establishment career politicians.
The media propaganda is beyond disgusting.
I use their product. It’s part of the modern world. Google is everywhere. Getting upset about it is like getting upset at the sun rising in the east: accomplishes nothing.
My view is at odds with you, but this is in no way personal with you. I recognize there is a large segment of America that feels exactly as you do.
From a professional perspective, I have to work with their “G-Suite” application suite, I am forced to. They suck, period. It is the lack of efficiency, poor design, and bugginess associated with it that I primarily object to from that perspective.
You sound like you are either retired, don’t work, or are allowed to choose your own tools in your work. Again, good for you, I envy you.
My nonprofessional cultural objection is to the search engine named “Google”.
The fact that they have become the de facto source of information to all of humanity with access to the Internet, to be shaped, censored and modified (and they do) as they see fit to suit an unashamedly leftist agenda should be troubling to any thinking person. I think it is a mistake to shrug it off. A colossal mistake.
Google is the source of truth and reality to unthinking people who accept it as such, and that likely constitutes a large majority of the population of the world. You are obviously intelligent enough to view shaped results returned by a Google search with a critical eye, but most people are not.
When I read your posts, you sound like you don’t think that is a bad thing or anything to worry about. I guess it is no worse than having our institutions of learning overrun with leftists who want to indoctrinate our young people, and Google places shaped information into their heads in the same fashion. There are a lot of people who don’t think that is an issue, just homeschool your kid or make sure they can think for themselves, and it is all good.
Sure. It is good for that subset of young people.
But the huge majority of kids subjected to this mass indoctrination (of which Google is an open, enthusiastic, and unashamed participant) are a tsunami that is going to wipe out that percentage of kids who avoid falling prey to the mass indoctrination taking place, and that huge percentage, when they reach adulthood are the ones who are going to cast votes for legislators who will make policy.
I know you and I will likely be dead when that happens. Nothing personal here, but you sound like you could care less because it gets in the way of your zen approach to here and now.
For my part, I care about the future of our nation, even if I won’t be here to experience it. But hey, I am just tilting at windmills. A lot of people don’t see the issue the same way I do and are perfectly fine with allowing Google and the media to set the social agenda for this country and the world.
Use DuckDuckGo as my home page/search engine.
I work. In software. Suckling at the MS teat. And they suck. Windows sucks. But again, that’s life. Railing against it does nothing. Increases your blood pressure and shortens your life.
Google is a search engine. Nothing more. If people use it poorly that’s on them. They weren’t the first, they won’t be the last.
As for indoctrination. Welcome to reality. All of human history is about indoctrinating the young. You’re trying. They’re trying. Nothing new about it. And as an aging punk I know a good chunk of the young make their path.
I’ll disagree with you on this, especially since as you say, there isn’t anything that can be done about it.
