Tucker Carlson says Trump is ‘not capable’ and hasn’t kept his promises

Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson set straight any misinformation concerning his views on President Trump: “I don’t think he’s capable,” he said during an interview on Tuesday.

Urs Gehriger, an editor at “Die Weltwoche,” the country’s leading German-language opinion weekly, noted that Carlson’s new book, “Ship of Fools,” is silent on Trump but comments on his critics. And so, Gehriger jump-started the conversation by asking what Carlson thought of Trump’s first two years in office.

Carlson said he cannot stand Trump’s self-aggrandizement and boasting. Then, when asked whether Trump has kept his promises, the usually quick-witted and long-winded Carlson had just one word: “No.”

I was actually talking about a time I wasn't the one driving; though I did have to drive on the LIE during a part of the '60s. And most assuredly was NEVER one for "racing" on it, nor all that happy about being on it to begin with.

Though I have been on the end of the Island, it wasn't a place I've ever been to all that much.

Goldwater wasn’t even YOUR idea of what he was; especially after he lost his stab at a presidential run. :-)

Ok, Tuck, WHERE are you going to come up with enough semi-competent people to replace 90% (at least) of the Federal bureaucracy...

Did Trump know what it was going to be like when he got to DC?

If so then he shouldn't have made promises he can't keep.

If not then he had no business running for President in the first place.

“FreeRepublic IS a conservative site. Read the title page.”

We went over this... before the commercial break.

Yes, everybody says they are ‘conservative’. The Weekly Standard, Paul Ryan, Mittens, etc.

Read farther down the Home Page to see that JimRob has a pretty Freedom-oriented interpretation. Which makes sense for a Free Republic. It’s very anti-entitlement, pro-10th amendment.

Despite he great qualities and executive-level accomplishments, Trump does not fit/advocate that limited central gov’t description. Not even close.

Heh, probably true, I just used him as shorthand to fill the role of what people see as a politician to the far right of the political spectrum!

I have always appreciated the characterization of him as a “staunch fiscal conservative” and a “militant anti-communist”...both good things in my book.

I do what little I can here, get "grief" from some posters who just can't cope with facts or the truth, and so just keep carrying on.

I don't TWEET, don't check Trump's TWEETS daily, but as you do, ALWAYS cheer him on, when I see his tweets posted here. He fights back...he REALLY fights back and isn't afraid to take on all comers; GOD Bless and keep him!

And the rest of your profound post is fantastic; good job, well said!

So you’re saying that Trump should get out there and start building the wall all by himself. Get out the cement and the rebar and start the wall a workin. Well George HW Bush said read my lips no new taxes then he went and he raised taxes.
At least Donald Trump is trying to get the money out of this obstructionist Congress to build the darn wall. I think you people should give him a break and start writing to your congressman to get the job done. Help out a little. Do your bit. Quit the cry baby act.

You're NOTHING whatsoever like Trump; at all; you flatter yourself beyond credulity.

I failed to mention, earlier, that you are delusional and in much need of mental care. Please get some!

I can "hack" far more than you are capable of; however, since YOU ignore and/or twist what I post, instead of actually trying to factually refute any of it, I owe you NOTHING at all!

You can't even answer your own queries, nor is your latest question germane!

Simply put....you are not only out of your depth, but befuddled in the extreme!

I credit Pres Trump with delivering the senate to the Republicans last month. And the loss of the House lies directly at the feet of the No Trumpers and their leader Paul Ryan. President Trump has not broken any promises that I know of. He is still in office and the wall is still being built, just not at the speed or scale that we all want, and which the president is still trying to get funding for. Talk is cheap for Carlson and Coulter and all the other straddlers who feed each faction of the GOP a little bit of this or that and show themselves to be far less honest or knowledgeable than they pretend. As to personal presentation, Pres Trump does not hide behind the facade of a good loser Republican, many of whom will backstab him at every opportunity. But ever so politely. Pres Donald Trump is willing to openly fight for what needs to be accomplished for America and Americans. God bless him.

Yes but Goldwater was NOT really what you are claiming him to be. And there’s NOTHING in the least “conservative” about his

...destroy and impoverish Donald Trump and his family.
_____________________________
How do you destroy competent people who actually take their own side in a fight, like the Trumps do? You can irritate them. You can bully them. But no matter how many times they are knocked down, as long as they keep getting up and land punches of their own, they aren’t destroyed.

How do you impoverish people who could live forever off the proceeds of one or two trophies (paintings/antiques/jewels)if, God forbid, push came to shove and they were forced to sell off personal property?

The enemies of the Trumps are definitely out to do damage, but all they seem accomplish is to strengthen the steel in their spines.

For the record, I occasionally wish Donald spoke better and his self-congratulatory mode is repetitious and tiresome. But, as marketing, it seems to work. It is his brand, like it or not and so far, it has been successful. The world wanted to be like Donald Trump for the past 40 years. For the past two years, the world has wished for a clone of Donald in their own countries. Who else has ever accomplished that?

But nothing is more important than they way the Trumps fight. Even Eric and Ivanka, who are the low key kids, just won’t quit,even if their styles are more sorrow than anger.

I fear for 2024. I see no one in the entire world capable of fighting like a Trump and I don’t like political dynasties, even if any of the children could match their father, which, IMO, they can’t.

I’m old enough that I may not be here long after 2024. Those of you who will are going to need to resist the Cabal, the aristocratic bureaucracy, with as much commitment as they are now resisting us and our champion. I see resistance emerging all over the globe, so American patriots will have allies.

We’re going to need every one of them.

I don’t think there’s enough people that fully grasp the tremendous damage the media has and continues to inflict on the country especially over the past two years.
Just think what POTUS might have accomplished if he didn’t have so distracted by the media inspired “witch hunt” among other sinister things.

"You're NOTHING whatsoever like Trump; at all; you flatter yourself beyond credulity."

Make up your mind. Do I flatter myself? Or am I not like Trump? Can't be both.

"I owe you NOTHING at all!"

I still disagree. You do still owe us ALL a final answer on what 'conserative' means since you keep claiming myself and others don't know. Are you hording knowledge that might benefit we unworthy masses?

I'll have to be honest and say you come off as a hollow blowhard if you can't answer what it is you brag about knowing better than everyone else.

"... nor is your latest question germane"

Well, at least we know your definition of germane is: "something within nopardon's ability to answer."

(Me:) Buddha, you brought up Free Republic not being Conservative Republic...I was merely pointing out that FR truly is a Conservative website and says so on Front Page..., and you even said conservatism does not have an objective definition (note your post):

(You:)
Well, ‘conservative’ does not have an objective definition.

Plus, this is The FREE REPUBLIC. Not the Conservative Republic.

There are plenty of sites devoted to the latter around - well, one less (Weekly Standard) pretty soon. But not so many sites that would advocate a return to a truly originalist Free Republic.

And Trump is not even close to a Free Republic advocate. Domestic policy-wise he is much closer to the typical big government Republican.

(Me:) Seriously, closer to big government Republican? Who has done more to try to reform immigration? Who has done more to roll back EPA regs? Who has done more for average working man? These efforts are not big government Republican in nature...

============================================================(You:)
“Sorry Buddha...”

I forgive you, my son. Three Hail Mary’s and two 10th amendments. Be absolved.

Kidding aside... go farther!

Read down to what JimRob considers ‘conservative’. Much of it is the opposite of Trump. The emphasis is on constitutionally limited central government.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Me:) If this is paragraph ** to which you are referring, I don’t think it conflicts with Trump’s agenda...Have you ever looked at his platform???...I would be happy to pull that up for you, but I think I have provided enough info for the discussion...
**Established in 1996, Free Republic is one of the earliest and largest online gathering places for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We’re working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!
Seriously, How can you say the points contained in the above paragraph are not Trump’s agenda? He has been rolling back regulations, rooting out fraud, and championing causes that further conservatism such as Constitutionalist Supreme Court Justices, supporting our military, etc. For goodness sake, he is probably the most conservative Pres. we have had—at least since Reagan.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(You:)
Again, ‘conservative’ can mean whatever you want it to mean. Free Republic is a much more stable concept. And, I think JimRob understands it quite well based on the bulk of the text on the page from which you quoted a greeting rather than a definition.

(Me:) Oh I don’t know, Seems pretty clear to me, but maybe we should ask him?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(You:) Trump fits some of JimRob’s definition well. But the heart of it is not in Trump’s heart.
(Me:) How do you know Trump’s heart?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(You:) Though I still very much like most of what he has done. Fortunately, he failed miserably at some things which are anti-Freedom - like TrumpRyanCare.

(Me:) Some of those items were compromises because of his hostile House and Senate leadership...Even though he is the President, he is only one man who has had friction and landmines to plod through since before he was elected. I don’t agree with everything he says or does (who agrees 100% with any one person?). However, I think he is a great job and making lots of progress—I disagree with Tucker on this one and hope it is fake news from WAPO.

Also where President Trump has yet to prevail, it can easily be seen that he earnestly tried very hard. So the fault is with the GOPe.

Most Trump supporters just voted for Trump and then just sat back and expected Trump to perform miracles.

A President can only do so much, if “We the People” don’t do anything about it, then don’t expect the President to do it for us on his own.
