I am still foaming at the mouth after reading this. I am so freakin' enraged, that some Manhattan libtard wants to raise MY taxes to pay for the health care of every unproductive bum in NY, INCLUDING illegal criminal invaders. What the HECK -- they proposing to raise my taxes to give free health care to the dirty, disease-carrying illiterate animals that sneak into our country? And the whole city council collection of Occasional Cortex clones voted for this. THIS is why I am trying to leave NY. I am sick of being victimized just because I live here. I am NOT a darn ATM machine to be milked at will to redistribute my hard-earned money to bums and criminals. I suspect there will be a considerable white flight. In fact, I believe there has already been a considerable exit of the middle class out of money-grubbing NY. All that will be left will be welfare bums, illegal criminal invaders and the very wealthy who won't feel a dent in their lifestyle due to ever-increasing taxes to cater to the bums.

NYC to look like downtown Caracas? People digging in the trash for their next meal? Think it can’t happen? I bet there a lot of ordinary Caracas-ians thought it couldn’t happen either. Hugo made it happen by promising *free stuff*....

I’ll have to consider traveling to NY for free surgery. All I have to do is not have ID.

a “Medicare for all” program that would raise taxes by $139 billion a year.
That's just for the first year. Within no time costs will double, triple, quadruple ... and taxes will go up, up, up and people will move, move, move and ...
Ain't socialism great?!?

At the front of that exodus with be a host of health professionals who are not going to subsidize this nightmare by being tasked with comparatively lower payment schedules. When one arrives at some ER in the near future, one will be greeted with some guy with a medallion and a mace. Upon entry they will be given an herbal tea and a prayer beads set.

NY State used to be a balanced place - NY City was a free-market center of trading and finance, while upstate lead in manufacturing and technology of all types. Wealth and power were evenly distributed.

This went away many decades ago. NY is the center of world trading in America’s massive pile of debt and our printed, fiat currency. Like all statist, progressive systems, wealth flows to an increasingly select few. As such, NY City runs the state. Upstate is poor and declining. Its like the former Eastern Europe.

It can’t last. The next financial and debt crisis is going to hit places like NY and IL very hard.

...to the roughly 1 million uninsured New Yorkers — including undocumented immigrants...

There may be more than 1M uninsured in NYC alone - especially among the undocumented. How will they count them if they have no documentation?

So we again create multiple classes of freeloaders. Anyone with assets gets nothing, while those that can hide assets will get everything for free.

New York’s FY 2016 annual budget was $101.2 billion.

This marxist stinker will cost $139 billion per year. I need to invest in a Yellow Vest manufacturer ...

“Medicare for all” program that would raise taxes by $139 billion a year.

$139 billion / 19.8 million = $7,020

Raise taxes by $7,000 for every man woman and child in New York. No problem.

This is the result of generational dummies in basic math and a love of socialism.

These liberal idiots now control many cities, states and the house in congress.

This is just the first of many attacks on America by idiots at the lower political levels.

This was always end game for Obamacare. It was not meant to be sustainable so they would have an argument to move to single payer socialized medicine.
