Ray Liotta- Chantix commercials
12-09-2018 | Me

Just saw that Liotta-Chantix commercial again. Is it me or does Liotta's face have that Botax/plastic look to it?

IMO, the guy is kinda creepy. Wasn't it him who played that creepy cop chasing after Kurt Russel's wife? Don't remember the name of the movie but he played the perfect part.

There’s a difference between an ‘attractive’ woman and one who looks like it but isn’t.

Ghost story with Fred Astair? I saw that and read the book, too.

Yes; you can’t paint-on the ‘personal magnetism’ that comes from genuine interest in and concern for others, depth of thought and feeling, etc...

That’s the one. Bunch of great old actors in that movie.

Fred Astaire, John Houseman, Patricia Neal, Melvyn Douglas, and Douglas Fairbanks Jr...

Loved it.

That was a good movie. I always remember them all sitting around talking as the ‘tale’ unfolded. Heheh. Fun to see someone else remembers that movie.

A good, scary movie with a well-written plot.

Unlawful Entry, 1992. I think he was better in Phoenix in that era, but he did “creep” well. Never did see Goodfellas.----

1. Unlawful Entry was very good.

2. SEE GOODFELLAS!

Until the Sopranos came along Goodfellas was the definitive Mob flick! (Ok Sopranos is not a movie! So Goodfellas is still definitive!) Both shows portrays these clowns are really are dangerous low class sociopaths not some sort of classy romantic Dick Turpin like they did in The Godfather.

The movies portray different generations. The originals portrayed in godfather were considered men of honor. The Godfather got the culture right. Good portrayed different era different people

Seems like you don’t know much about the original commission. The men of honor is accurately portrayed by Brando. And yes I do say so.

I do know about the Kefauver Committee!

I just don’t define criminality as honorable period!

Sociopath criminal behavior even if it wears a nice suit, contributes to the local church, publically kisses babies, etc is still sociopathic criminal behavior and I don’t celebrate it!

The original guys had rules and followed them. No killing civilians, no selling drugs, kept your word, strong family. That is why they were called men of honor and resect. These are not my terms. I have read a lot about Joseph Bonanno he is far from a sociopath. If you research the original godfathers they are not all the same.

I don’t know how you can watch thee portrayal of Brando which is based on Bonanno and not see honor in the character. The reason I refer to the godfather is among Italians it is felt the picture was more than a mafia movie it accurately portrayed the culture of Italian families of the day and I don’t mean mafia families the relationships of the blood related. The opening scene of the wedding and the people asking favors of Brando on his daughters wedding day for example.

I have explained my use of the phrase so I am out.

You’re right. By the way, have you seen “Midnight Run”? Charles Grodin was very funny in that very good movie. Here are some snips:

I knew Melanie Griffith in that era

She’d just broken up with Steven Bauer

Also mentioned on this thread

She had legs

And legs

It’s not that bad if you stay active and positive.

What’s really brutal on women is when they’ve given absolutely everything to husband/kids/home - and when kids have grown and husband died, they have nothing to fall back on; they never developed an inner life or interests that could keep them positive.

Women don’t seem to let this happen to them as much today as they did in the past, but I know some widows who are just letting themselves fall apart and drift away...and it happens a lot easier, more insidiously, than one would think.
