Teaching of history is infested with left-wing revisionist claptrap. It’s less a science than indoctrination, and nobody is interested in getting their brain laundered daily.

In NYC when my mom was a student, Chaucer was taught in high school. I’m sure it was only one or two tales but that shows you how educational standards have dropped over the years. I studied Jacobean drama along with Shakespeare in college (as well as 18th and early 19th century English novelists) but had a few electives to study modern American writers.

Studying history is an honorable pursuit. I am a history nut and have written several books that took years of historical research to get right.

I don’t have a degree in history, and those that pursue one shouldn’t expect a high paying job at the other end.

There’s lucrative pursuits and there’s honorable pursuits. Some cross over between the two. Others don’t.

Having a history degree, I find this disturbing. Studying history is the only way to make since of it all. It is also the perfect preventative to liberal talking points. Ignorance of history leaves one unarmed against the onlsought of media and academic bias.

And what American history many in college are taught likely has the objectivity of a Howard Zinn.

Rush is always talking about how hard it is to understand that history is older than yourself...
