Barack Obama gets LA freeway near where he attended college named in his honor [tr]

Drivers can now cruise along the President Barack H. Obama Highway after signs went up Thursday showing a section of a Los Angeles freeway has been named in his honor.
The State Route 134 stretch that refers to the 44th President of the United States, runs from State Route 2 in Glendale through to the Eagle Rock section of LA's Interstate 210 in Pasadena.
Barack Hussein Obama II, 57, attended Occidental College in Eagle Rock from 1979 to 1981 and lived in Pasadena during his sophomore year.

Eagle Rock is an area of Los Angeles.
It’s where Joe Gannon lived, if you remember Dragnet.
Occidental College is there. A private university Obama went to out of high school.
Eagle Rock is next to Pasadena, immediately south-west, between Pasadena and Glendale.
Oxy, as they call it, is not far from the Rose Bowl.
The article here makes no sense, but it seems that it’s a small stretch of the 134 freeway between where the 134 splits from the 210 in Pasadena and highway 2 in Glendale.

The Compton Gauntlet? Occidental College and Rte. 134 are about 20 miles north of Compton. The two presidents associated with Compton are Bush 41 and 43, who lived in an apartment house at Santa Fe Ave. and Myrrh St. First Lady Barbara Bush described Compton as a "lovely" town when she lived there.

Oxy, as they call it, is not far from the Rose Bowl. Oxy is located on the western slope of Fiji Hill.
In the library, there's a shrine to President Obama. Anyone who attends Oxy and becomes president gets a shrine.
The football stadium is named for Jack Kemp who, unlike Obama, actually graduated from Oxy.
Speaking of the Rose Bowl, we used to play the Cal Tech Beavers there for our away games, but our last game against them was at Tournament park in Pasadena, where the Tournament of Roses game was played before it moved to the Rose Bowl in 1923.
