If you've never seen it, give it a try...
A Christmas Carol (1984), with George C. Scott as Scrooge
(Full video on YouTube)

I remember this! And the great speech he gave:
“The ghosts are the enemy. Wade into them. Spill their blood. Shoot them in the belly. When you put your hand into a bunch of goo that a moment before was your best friend’s face, you’ll know what to do”
Sorry, the following link is better. The other has two dopey guys occasionally interrupting and commenting.
Didn’t realize it until afterwards.

It’s my favorite version as well. (Although when the scene comes in which Belle leaves him it’s my signal to go to the bathroom or get a drink)
Merry Christmas, FReepin' FRiends *<|:-)
The best so far.
Our favorite too!
Bkmrk.
Thank you! Maybe we will watch this tonight!
GCS made everything good!
I liked that one but there was a better one. I think in the early 50s or around that time.
If you’re going to watch it through the link, please use the one in my post 4. That is, unless you can find a better quality upload on YouTube, or elsewhere. Hopefully, you have the DVD.
In any case, enjoy it and Merry Christmas to all!!
Hard to beat the 1951 version with Alastair Sim turning in a wonderful performance but the George C. Scott version runs it a close race.
It is indeed the greatest version. The acting is fantastic, it is not rushed as most are (allowing the great reactions to show and sink in), and the Tiny Tim really is tiny and very young, as he should be, not some 10 year old, and his sister is older than he as she must be.
The only problem is they leave out some details that might make things clearer, such as who is that woman selling his things, and that his sister died from birthing...just like their mother.
You’re probably thinking of the Alastair Sim version made in 1951.
A great one!
Yes.
Its my favorite as well.
