They’ve lived in such a comfortable bubble that they’re at the high end of the Maslow hierarchy of needs ... and think that it is their absolute right and moral right to remain there.
That for them to be inconvenienced or told they’re wrong, hurting their feelings or not doing whatever they demand, is a sin and violation of their civil rights ... and on part with civil rights like equal access to public services and fear of being assaulted based on skin color.

At this school, any type of whacko reasoning seems possible.
Hey how many times do cops say, “Hey if you’re not doing anything WRONG, you shouldn’t mind if we FILM, right?” And they will cite that same reasoning if they audio recording you.

It sounds like UVA’s problem with “erratic, weird” Kieran is that he takes his education seriously, that he takes IDEAS seriously, that he values reason and disagreeing agreeably.
KIERAN is the professor here, not UVA.

If a kid asks me for advice on a future career field, I would advise them to go into a hands on trade like being a machinist, welder or electrician. There is such a high demand for skilled labor these days. No six figure college debt to pay and no idiotic college professors to put up with.
