Should require proof of being able to handle such a powerful car before one can drive it.

That seems to be a HP to weight ratio requiring a professional driver on a race track. Some of these supercars have different keys that run a different program when used. The Mustang Boss has a red key for the race track for example.

I live in a retirement community. At least half of the people here should have to prove they can handle any vehicle...even a golf cart...or a walker.

They should bring ‘Dukes of Hazard’ back using these cars. At $70k+ each it may be a little rich for them to destroy.

One tap on the gas on a wet road and the rear end is likely to try to become the front. Long ago I had a 1970 Firebird (that’s right, 1970) with a powerful engine and no emission controls that did that. Yes, I’m an old fart.

My doctor just bought a Shelby. It came with driving lessons at a road track to teach him how to handle the car under racing conditions.

When I see these type of high speed cars out on the roads I call them expensive suicide cars for organ donors. If only they would just kill themselves, but there always seems to be some collateral damage.

Just trying to keep up with the Joneses, in the sense that electric car acceleration can easily be made incredible.

I had a cadillac cts that would flip front to back in a heartbeat, on a wet road if you turned off the traction control. that was a V6 only 300hp. so yes, I feel you should have to have a special license to drive a 700hp mustang. besides that, mustangs attract aholes around here, now ford lets aholes become super aholes. Thanks ford :-(

A little more than competition, as it can turn corners too.

I have a ‘69 Mustang running about 400 ponies through a C4 into 4:11 rear gears. I call her “Bad Manners” because she is so unpredictable.
My winter project is trading the C4 (which I blew up last fall) for an AOD and a rebuilt original 9-bolt with 3:55 gears. It will be interesting to see how she behaves.

With traction control off and a rear drive limited slip differential, a 180 on wet pavement is child’s play in anything above 200hp.
