Mine as well. Lots of damage but they were ok.

None of the experts telling how to behave during a earthquake work. You are tossed about and nothing you do can stop it. There was a train that was on it’s side in Northridge... a train.
Canoga Park, CA about 4 miles from Northridge. I was up at the time and reading a book while in bed. The 1st quake hit followed right away with the much worse one. Lights went out, no way did I get to the front door during the quakes as there was stuff everywhere. All the city lights out. You could see the milky way it was so dark. When it was light out I saw most of the kitchen cupboard contents on the floor including stuff from the frig. The building I was in was twisted as in one side was lower then the opposite of the room by about 1.5”. Cracks in wall but lucky the building did not collapse unlike a hundred yards away. I bought a picture magazine that came out and recognized all the buildings wrecked.
Twenty five years ago, at 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 17, 1994, the Northridge earthquake shook Angelenos from their beds.
For those of us who lived through it, the memories of chaos early in the morning are unforgettable.
The 6.7 magnitude earthquake destroyed freeways and buildings, cracked streets and left swaths of Los Angeles without power for a period of time.
According to seismologists, an earthquake far bigger than Northridge could hit at anytime.
Limited water, natural gas lines ruptured, fires out of control, emergency services limited and disbursed in the community,
possible power outage, interrupted and overwhelmed communications (Cell/Landlines) even if working, and medical emergencies.
Everyone who lives in an earthquake zone should have some sort of emergency plan in place
and coordinate that plan with friends and family.
Do you have a family emergency plan established ?

Check out Youtube dutchsinse. Gives a daily recap of all the earthquakes in the world and predictions. everything you need to know about earthquakes. Sunday night he usually gives a 7 day forecast. He has a site at Dutchsinse.com. Youtube has been harassing him so that’s why you have to go directly to youtube. Worth a visit to his site though.
SuspiciousObservers.org gives a daily report on solar activity which portends earthquake activity.
