Is There Someone at FR Who Can Explain Funding Programs via Congress.

I need to understand who shepherded funding through for a portion of the government. Is that something that can be searched?

PM mail me please?

Very simple - The Government takes as much money away from you as they can. It is only when you vote or scream ENOUGH do they stop.

No what I am trying to understand is since there are mandatory appropriations, those were agreed upon and sent through? No problem?

No kabuki theatre?

It is only a small part of the budget that they are making drama over?

They don’t do that anymore. Congress hasn’t passed a budget in years.

It’s all on auto-pilot, and then they vote a “continuing resolution” to keep up the dig and pony show.

An actual budget would require specific debate on issues. They don’t want to do that, because they would be on record. Many of them are complete snakes. And that’s the Republicans.

You are confusing baseline budgeting with mandatory spending.

What do you mean by shepherded?

A budget is sent to congress. They either vote on it or not. The house draws up its budget. They vote. The senate either agrees or doesn’t. Sometimes they get together and create a crapulous Bill and send it to the president. Then they go on vacation again

The funding of the government has been done through continuing resolutions for many years. Budgets used to be passed by departments.

This past year, the republicans pushed many of the major department budgets through the process, so as each was approved their budgets were in place going into the new year.

Who would have done this? I imagine house leadership had this planned for the last year or so.

Anyone thinking this was a surprise does not understand how these folks work. This was planned, and if you wondered why all of those folks ran to the hills last year—here is your answer. The plan is to destroy the Democrat party.
