The obesity epidemic is caused by sugars and high carb starches like french fries, not meat. I am a high meat/low-carb diet, and have lost five pounds in the first week.

the introduction of a meat tax akin to the sugar tax
They should ask the Mayor of Philadelphia how that soda tax is working out for him.

Billions of people are underfed or overweight.
So we must panic?
If the Left had their way over two billion would die suddenly.

Of course technology companies like Impossible foods are trying to make a decent meat substitute, but I believe the concept of freedom should prevail. That means we get to decide what to consume, and the market gets to decide how much it costs.
A tax? Well, consider the whole world and figure out how to do it? I personally think this will not go down well.

To get the required daily intake of calories, people would be expected to eat almost 18 times as much dry beans, soy and nuts. .......................................................
They think that stuff just comes from the stores just like electricity comes from the wall socket.

All of those farts would kill the planet if we are to believe that cow farts are the current problem.
