Three paintings by a young Adolf Hitler, including one that may contain a self-portrait of the dictator, have been put up for sale for £15,000.
The watercolour artworks depict idyllic valleys and mountains in Germany's Rhineland and his native Austria.
They are dated 1910 and 1911, when the Nazi leader was aged 21 and struggling to make a living as an artist in Vienna.
They are all signed 'A Hitler' and have been authenticated by a handwriting expert.
One of the paintings, titled 'Alpenlandschaft' or Alpine landscape in English, has an image of a man sat on a rock in front of a stream painting the scene in front of him

I like the episode of “Justified” where an art collector says he has a collection of Hitler’s paintings. The lead character is uninterested, but finally is coerced into going to see the collection. It’s a room full of jars with ashes in them. The art collector bought the Hitler paintings and burned them, putting the ashes in individual jars.
Personally, I don't see it as an issue. Just another collection of art from a notorious person...makes it more collectible for some.
In the article it said:

In May of 1945, he sure did end his life as an artist, so I guess he was prescient...
He was actually pretty good.
Not particularly good at drawing people, which is what kept him out of the best art schools, which, of course, he blamed on Joooos who ran the place (or he thought they did, same effect).
I often wonder what would have happened if he was just a bit better.
Probably some other asshole would have taken his place.
Look like “happy mountains” to me. Are they sure these weren’t done by Bob Ross.
They’ll all, of course, sell for far more than Hitler could have gotten for them when he painted them. A pity people weren’t fans of his painting when he was living in Vienna - he could have become one more deranged, untalented artist instead of a killer of millions.

Hitler was crazy, and that’s a good and bad thing. The bad thing about him being crazy is what he did to the world. The good thing about him being crazy is that if he weren’t, he may have succeeded.
Hitler was a postcard painter in Vienna in 1905/1906 when he joined the anti Jewish Christian Socialist Movement.
His archenemy, Winston Churchill was a far better artist. Interesting isn’t it.

Somebody else would have filled the role. And they might have been a better general than Hitler.

Indeed, pretty much his only true friend and reliable patron was a Jewish art dealer.
I can’t recall his name, but he asked Hitler for clemency of some sort, and ended up ashes.
“I was just thinking the same thing. I think the paintings are kind of boring, but he might have amounted to something positive.”
His architectural drawings were very, very good.
His paintings of people are downright haunting, and not in a good way. You can tell he thought of people as objects.
