I had a neighbor who had a similar layout. He devote an huge room in his basement. I used to come over and just watch. Many hours of railroad dream land for an 8 year old boy.
[sigh] I wish I had the time ....
Maybe the unfinished room can get some model railroad capability.
I have done this on Sims programs. Not quite the same reality but still kind of cool and fun in an easier way. Currently working on a classic called OpenTTD.
