My wife and I went there a year ago for three weeks, saw Shanghai, Chongqing, Xian, Beijing, took the high speed rail, flights between cities, went to a panda zoo, saw the terracotta warriors, took a river cruise on the Yangtze, saw the three gorges and the huge dam, met a lot of friendly people, stayed at beautiful but fairly inexpensive hotels.
Our experience and amazement was the same as this guy. What they’ve achieved in 30 years is nothing short of a miracle.
I heartily recommend a trip there to anyone who wants to see the real China. It will blow up whatever preconceived notion you currently have.
China will be by far our biggest competitor. Hopefully it will cure us of some of the silliness that we’re indulging in now.
