This is not normal. Seriously. Take a basketball, inflate it to 8 PSI and see if you can press it in at all. If you use all your force with both palms you might be able to depress the ball a little, but nothing like this.
Consider the situation: Zion is trying to rip the ball from an opponent. Hes not pressing against a solid object with no give. This is a human. Also the angle plays a part here too, and proves that this is all grip strength.

After last night’s game with top 20 Louisville - coming back from a 20 point hole to win in OT, I’m ready to say no one can or will beat Duke this year. Another championship for Coach K.
Is the NBA using under inflated balls?
Pressurized using the Brady standard.
I can’t see what advantage you would get from that. Have you ever tried to dribble with an underinflated basketball?
I saw young Mr.Williamson play basketball during his last two seasons of high school. A man against boys situation, I was not overly impressed with his athleticism, skills, or effort. That said, I find it astounding how college sports programs can turn athletes into incredible hulks in the space of less than a year.
No, it proves nothing.
Superman-like. Speed. Power. Leap.
I can’t stop watching.
All these years I thought that basketball was a “No Contact Sport”.
Stupid article. From what I can see, he had his entire hand on the ball from above and was pulling down against his body weight. He wasn’t, as the article seemed to imply, squeezing the ball with a one-hand grip.
How can it be “grip strength when his thumb is up next to his fingers?
