I've spent some time in Africa and I've seen a fair chunk of East Africa and southern Africa.Apart from a good bit of affluence I saw in parts of suburban Johannesburg all I saw there was breathtaking poverty.

So as far as I can see the chances of financial success for this "league" are pretty slim...unless the real purpose is for it to be a "farm league" for the NBA.

“ya lets see how well Community Organizing works for him over there...”

Yeah, just wait until he stiffs some African dictator and see how far his half blackness gets him.

I suspect it may very well be an attempt to try to counter the emergence of White-Euro players in the NBA.

Here in Dallas, everybody is raving about Luka Doncic. I already see huge posters of him downtown.

For all the hoopla over Zion, there's a young man from Japan who will burst onto the NBA scene next year: Rui Hachimura of Gonzaga. He's already a national hero in Japan, and he's going to make millions in endorsements.

Rui's upside is immense, and he's got a multi-million dollar smile and personality to boot. Whoever signs Rui has a leg up on the Japanese market.

BTW, it's only taken Luca a few months to capture the hearts of Maverick fans. I'll get my first look in person this coming Friday night.

Professional sports do not a nation make. Remember when Clinton was going to eliminate inner city crime with midnight basketball? Where would we be today if the founding fathers had decided that the key to America’s future success was building casinos?

I suspect it may very well be an attempt to try to counter the emergence of White-Euro players in the NBA.

Dallas Mavericks will be criticized for adding another white guy to the team this summer, when they sign that kid from Orlando. Their Big 3 will be the whitest Big 3 in the NBA.

I don't think Luca would have achieved his level of popularity in Atlanta, the team that drafted him. Atlanta is a predominantly black city, and Trey Young's game is more suited to that city.

And I suspect Mark Cuban is going to keep Nowitzki in the organization after he retires from playing so he will be a liaison to keeping the Euro pipeline going.

I keep thinking about Ethiopian cheerleaders, and that Nigerian Prince that had millions in the bank. He emailed me and asked for help.

Agreed. DFW is a natural fit for Euros, due to the international companies that have a presence here, and the respect we all have for Dirk.
