Odds are you’ve probably asked yourself whether or not you put the toilet paper roll on the holder correctly. Don’t worry; you’re not alone! While you might decide it’s all based on personal preference, unfortunately, it’s not.
According to Inc., this controversial topic “was allegedly the topic that generated the most letters to Dear Abby on a single subject.”
“The moment when a restroom user’s hands are most likely to carry bacteria is when they reach for toilet paper,” Geoffrey James stated after sharing results from a study conducted at the University of Colorado, which found “19 groups of bacteria on the doors, floors, faucet handles, soap dispensers, and toilets of 12 public restrooms in Colorado.”

If you have a cat, affix the roll so that the cat can’t unroll it by batting at it.
And stay out of public restrooms.
I don’t even like to touch shopping cart handles. I wash my phone every day.
When we did a big remodel we eliminated the toi!et paper holder and instead have a basket of toilet paper. Nice and easy.
This toilet paper argument is over the top.
I'm sure this will clear up any confusion.

I have have three cats. There is only one right way to hang the roll with cats and that isn’t it.
There isn’t as much standardization in the industry as I’d assumed. The last package of TP I bought has rolls that are too big to fit in the holder. Is nothing sacred?
Restaurants...the salt and pepper shakers, any ketchup or mustard bottle, and every menu. Also, the sides of chairs and the seats of booths. I always have hand sanitizer in my pocket.
Me too, and I use all the time saved not having to reload that damn thing reading useful threads on FR.
