Until this “movement” gains a red state, it is actually detrimental to the DNC.

Since it is unlikely a red state will join this scam, it only provides an opportunity for Trump to sweep even more states in 2020 when he wins the popular vote over whichever lunatic the DNC puts on the ballot.

Well, this whole thing will last until a Republican wins the Popular Vote, and then you see a 400 EC vote win because all these fool states did this....

Could happen as early as 2020.

The electoral college prevents the totalitarian tyrants know this is their biggest obstacle to destroying the USA. The USA MUST BE DESTROYED to promote A 1 world order! People can not have free speech or choice to succeed. Remove choice and weapons and the elites can control a society of slaves for the elitist politicians.

Leftists lay awake in bed at night, every night, thinking of new little ways to game the system and tip the table in their direction.

As Conservatives actually have lives, we’re at a distinct disadvantage.

All of the destructive stuff that is happening today the Left was chattering about 10+ years ago in the whacko places on the web where they hang out.

Yes. Hilary Clinton would be President today if the massive 2016 over vote for her in California had been part of a national popular vote election scheme.

There is very little chance of the Electral College being removed from the Constitution. In the meantime, if Blue states want to apportion their electoral college votes while Red states maintain the status quo, that is a net benefit to Republicans. (Look at all the red or leaning red counties in the article below that there are in the Blue states. Those are guaranteed Dem electoral votes that would now go to the Rep candidate. Just make the apportionment at the county, not the state, level.

I've nothing against the Heritage or Cato analysis, but their view of the EC is distorted by what we all take for granted, the erroneously termed, "two party system."

The first purpose of the EC was to appoint men of national stature, wisdom, and experience. Of equal importance, the President could assume office without political debts to pay off that superseded his oath of office.

Our Framers knew from history that factions were the death of republics. To limit the practical choice of presidential electors to one of two leaders of outright political factions guarantees recurring appointment of presidents with little loyalty to the Constitution.

The Framers' President Part I.

(BTW, James Madison wasn't the chief architect of the EC)

The Framers did some incredible things, but could not be expected to anticipate everything. Despite their prescient understanding of how important checks and balances are, they didn’t anticipate the growth of huge state and federal bureaucracies that can operate outside the bounds of elections or definitive oversight. There have to be very, very strict term limits - including limits to how many years anyone can work in government in almost any capacity. Term limits should be cumulative, including any time spent in local, state, and federal office - combined. The total cumulative term should be less than 16 years, and the total allowed in any specific office should be 8 years. No exceptions, ever.

Regarding government jobs, the limit should be 16 years, total - with the possible exception of the military and people like capital security guards, and postal workers. No one should be with the IRS for 20+ years, or the FBI, or the CIA, or any other agencies for more than a cumulative total of 16 years.

What would they do if DJT wins the popular vote in 2020?
